Afl draft central gave JUH best on ground in today's preliminary final.

He was nowhere near BOG, barely sighted in the 2nd & 4th quarter.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Agreed, he was good in 2 quarters and hardly got a touch in the other two

No problems BT, did you watch much of it?

What JUH does is quite exciting, his kicking has power. He can take a mark and reads the play so well. With some muscle that will come in time he should be an exciting prospect.

He’s too quick on the lead for most key defenders and his hands are so good, he only needs a bit of separation to take the mark. Then you combine that with his contested marking/aerial ability, he’s going to be a handful.

He’s a bit of a cameo player right now. He was clearly gassed at various points, hunched over which probably explains why he spends a bit of time on the bench and rarely ventures outside the 50. Hopefully he puts in the hard yards over summer, improves his tank and we see him involved across the entire game. Look out if so.

I was watching it on and off across the course of the game (thanks for the link comrade). Although the distortion of the young boundary rider's microphone was enough for me to nearly turn it off. He seems to do almost everything well, especially for a bottom age player. I'm day dreaming of what a Schache, Naughton & JUH forwardline can achieve (maybe add Bruce in the mix). His leading, marking on the lead and aerial marking makes him a special talent. He might be the indigenous excitement machine we build our indigenous program around at this rate. I remember at the beginning of the year he was touted as a top 10 prospect next year. 5-6 weeks back, he was a top 5 prospect next year. The last I read last week or so, he was a potential top 3 prospect next year. His stock is rising.

I will be interested with what the club does to his physique early on. He will need muscle, but his agility and speed is a huge asset.

Fair enough, I didn't know that. They send out scouts every week to watch the games live and do detailed reports. Not this week then.

I notice Finlay Macrae had 35 touches playing for Vic metro last mth. Wonder if he is in our sights?

Maybe our interest. But no one around the football industry will notice him until he does it every week for 5 years...

Or hopefully it will just be us sitting up and taking notice.

Hmmm, Macrae? I've heard that name before...

Oh yeah! Jack Macrae, the guy who gets 92 000 touches every year.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Good thing about being the younger brother is you have a head start in AFL from normal draftees as you see what your older brother goes through and he would give you advice.
