    Any relation to Ryley?

        Re: 2024 Draft Watch

My boy Alix Tauru has jumped from the 20s to number 10 in Cal Twomey's rankings. Was also named in the Coates Talent League team of the year this week.

'The Flying Viking' is flying up draft boards. He is the big mover of this Phantom Form Guide on the back of a starring finish to Gippsland Power's season. Tauru has done a bit of everything in the back half of the year ? played as a bigger midfielder, as a courageous key defensive interceptor and an aggressive marking forward. It's all been exciting and the main thing with Tauru is not what he is now but what he could be ? he's still raw but his talent is obvious. Tauru, who has a Swedish background, kicked 2.2 from 16 disposals in Gippsland's final game against Dandenong. Think James Sicily.

Well the Young experiment didn't work.

Need to find a position for Brenton Sanderson on the coaching staff.

Sid Draper at no 2 is fair - has that 'grit' you want from top prospects.

Interesting that a lot of talls are rising late. This so-called "midfielders draft" is becoming as mixed as any year.

There's a new No. 1 in town as a certified young star reclaims his mantle as the top draft prospect, while there are several new faces who have emerged in ESPN's draft board for September.

People seem to think we'll get Geelong's first and hope like hell Taj Hotton falls to our pick.
There's some suggesting we've been heavily linked to Hynes wo has played forward this year but projects as a mid long term if developed that way.

Some seem to rate him as a bit of a later pick but I really like Harry Oliver too. Numbers aren't super impressive as a small defender, just passes the eyeball test to me

This CTL grand final performance from Hannaford has to have him bolting. I wanted him at our 2nd but wouldn't be surprised if Geelong's 1st pick isn't even high enough now. Could end up as much a bolter as Pickett was in his draft year (going from being rated 40+/rookie late in the year to being taken at Pick 12)

Exactly what I loved about it. He's got pace, grunt, and kept playing at full intensity even when the game was well and truly lost.

His celebration when kicking their first goal despite being 50 points down was telling - genuinely hyped and getting his team mates involved. I reckon he debuts early too - was still going at full pace late in the game so seemingly has a good tank already. Couldn't choose a better Smith replacement honestly
