Re: 2024 Draft Watch
You could easily make an argument for Travaglia over Allan but doing it based on the club he supported as a kids seems foolish. What should I tell her? She's going to ask.Comment

I don’t think it’s necessarily about the club support element, just an interesting by-line.Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?Comment

Re: 2024 Draft Watch
There's are a lot of factors that go into it too. Hotton will split recruiters because even though it seems heavier guys are more at risk of doing it again, even for lighter guys who rely on leap / pace it often takes 12 months of actually playing to get that full confidence back in the body.Western Bulldogs: 2016 PremiersComment

Re: 2024 Draft Watch
My preferences are very similar!
Pick 17 - Berry, Lindsay, Travaglia
Pick 25 - Hannaford. Don?t want anybody else, has to be him
Next pick - Moraes, Gross
I?m also wondering whether we?ll look to WA and SA with our later pick/s. Looking at the prospects rated in that top 30-40 range, they?re almost all from Victoria. Far more than usual. Feels like there may be too much focus on the CTL this year and it?s resulting in the other states potentially being underrated. Guess we?ll seeDoing my best to use emojis more frequently :oComment

Re: 2024 Draft Watch
I wonder if someone like Hamish Davis from WA could be in the mix for us? Perhaps not with our first selection.
Plays in the midfield and up forward and is very competitive with his marking.

Re: 2024 Draft Watch
What happens with our draft picks this year is hard to predict. A real spread of players would probably help us.
Another mid or two given our age demographic and the depth that we lost seems like a genuine requirement.
A small or medium sized goal kicking forward is a position we have struggled to fill is another area we need to focus on.
A smaller defender especially given the age profile of JJ and Duryea is another potential gap.
Then a taller defender, a ruck man or a genuine winger could be good investments as well.
We might have the scope to bring in a couple of experienced DFA as well.
I'd be interested to hear if there is an area or two we should focus on?
Do we actually look at DFA or try and focus as much as we can with bringing in players from the National Draft? I'd prefer 5 picks if that is possible.Doing my best to use emojis more frequently :oComment

Re: 2024 Draft Watch
Yeah I'm definitely not expecting him to be available, would be a pretty surprising slide if he was. At best, he maybe gets to West Coast's pick but I can't see them passing him up, even for Bo Allan.
Berry is my first preference regardlessComment

Re: 2024 Draft Watch
Liam McMahon came second in the VFL goal kicking. Is he worth a look at?
He also won Carlton's VFL B&F. Arriving at the Blues VFL program in 2023 after two seasons at Collingwood, McMahon has cemented his spot in the side as a leader and target in attack.
The 198cm forward?s aerial ability is a focal point for the Blues? attacking half game, with his flexibility to play down back also a great asset to the side.
I just saw the stats for VFL and I can't believe Billy Gowers won the goal kicking for 2024 !
