    Re: 2024 Draft Watch

Angus Clarke was on our interview list of believe the rumors. Bit of Bailey Dale about him from (very) limited viewing.

Pretty sure he's the kids who has to travel hours each way to train/play which is a decent tick for his commitment

      Correct on the travel.

Angus Clarke has come from the clouds to enter draft conversations in 2024. The Mount Gambier product emerged as a prospect with 17 SANFL Under 18 appearances last year, and has put plenty of milage into his top-age campaign. The 18-year-old travels four hours up and back to Adelaide just to train and play, no less at a high standard.

Noobers' video package on Sam Davidson had him chopping out in the ruck as a 190cm HF. No wonder we're interested!

We haven't been able to adequately replace Mitch Hannan, Josh Dunkley and Lin Jong since they all departed.

There have been plenty of times this year when Alger has kicked a goal from nothing, producing a moment inside-50 with a flash of brilliance. The half-forward does his best work inside-50, where he is quick on the lead and sharp with his goalkicking. He kicked four goals in his last game of the season against Calder in wildcard round before a finger injury ruled him out of the rest of Oakleigh's campaign. He's dangerous in the air and plays above his height.
I think we'll be drawn to his athletic profile as well - excellent speed, agility and a good 2km time trial.

Just flicking back through some numbers and it shows how amazing an athlete Aiden O?Driscoll is - he ran a 6:06 two-km time trial, 2.87 twenty-metre sprint and 8.30 agility.

We also drafted three players in the top 10 for the 2023 2km time trial - Crofty with a 6:05, AOD with a 6:06 and interestingly Freijah was eighth with a 6:13.

Would've loved to see what O'Driscoll could do

I reckon there's a strong chance we look at multiple of the top 10 again this year. We've already been linked to Angus Clarke (3rd with 6:16) and Christian Moraes (9th with 6:24), and a few have discussed Hamish Davis (5th with 6:18) and Luke Urquhart (10th with 6:25) on here.

Interesting how Freijah was 8th with 6:13 last year. That would've been good enough for 2nd this year... And Croft would've been equal 1st

There were a few impressive performers at the Vic state level testing as well in terms of 2K running

I questioned Power and Milesi about the running attributes of the players we drafted last year and it sounded like it just panned out that way more than any real plan, That said, when AOD was replaced we added Rypstra who was very athletic with his running.

I wouldn't be ruling players in or out based on their 2K results at the combine.

Hmmm. I dunno. Kinda looks like he’s running in quicksand the whole time.

I'm starting to wonder if Richmond pull the trigger a bit earlier than his consensus "range". The last thing they need is yet another 18 year old draftee
