Injury update: Cody Weightman

The Club can confirm Cody Weightman has been placed on the inactive list.

Western Bulldogs forward Cody Weightman has been placed on the Club’s inactive list for the remainder of the 2025 season due to a knee injury.

The vacancy will now open a second spot on the Bulldogs' list ahead of the Mid-Season Draft on Wednesday night.

A full injury update will be provided by the Club later today.

Jackson Voss (Son of Brett) has been in good form this year. If we were looking for a Duryea replacement he might be worth considering.

Dolphins coach Jackson Kornberg describes his left-footer as a “territory-taker’’. The son of former AFL player Brett Voss kicks the ball a l-o-n-g way and is as tough as cheap steak. Last season he finished third in the best and fairest, averaging 20.8 disposals and 4.8 rebound 50s. “Off halfback, his ability to drive his legs and that powerful left-foot kick … I think he’s trending in a really positive direction,’’ Kornberg said of the former Sandringham Dragon, who has played an important role in Frankston’s rise from the lower rungs of the VFL ladder.

I was surprised that Doc was given another year. He was good against Essendon after the VFL stint but against a good team he lacked the pace, sharpness and capacity to respond under pressure he once had in droves. I don't doubt his work ethic or commitment but he must know its time to switch to full-time coaching.
The sooner we have options to choose for his spot the better.

Voss looks like a contender.

Luca Muratore - He played one good game for us and then got injured early in the 2nd game against Werribee and hasn't played since.
dog town seemed to think he was a standout for Airport West before coming to Footsctay.

Anyway, he didn't nominate for the draft.

While we have 2 list spots open we could pass on the last pick if the players we have on the short list are selected by other clubs. I mean it's probably doubtful that they all go but you never know.
With some doubts on the future of Marra and maybe Liam Jones and Coffield I wouldn't have minded us taking a flyer on a KPP but it seems unlikely.

By the way the omen bet is that we select Lucas Herbert with our 2nd pick. I mean after all he hails from a town called Beveridge

He played the following week (12/4) after the Werribee game for Airport West - kicked 2 goals and was named in the best.

He then didn't play again until the weekend just gone (24/5) - again kicked 2 goals and named in the best.

Hopefully see him back at VFL level soon.

Sellwood is Tom Stewart, not Jai Newcombe.

Is he as quick as Stewart though?

Don't know anything from the players we have interest in, but have watched some of Ewan Mclinley's highlights (mainly goals) on YT and would be more than happy to have him on the list to see how he goes, looks like a rich mans McNeil from the highlights, super fast and crafty around goals, nice set shot too.
