If we didn't already have Sherman, we'd be saying he fits the age group that we need, has speed/x-factor and a bigger body.

I think we're falling into a trap if we move for Dawes, but I guess we have nothing to lose. (apart from focus on developing Cordy/Jones)

IMO the Dogs should have a real crack at Dawes.
Fits into an age group we really need, will give us a forward and is a bigger bodied player.

Totally agree, gives us a Big bodied forward, which is something we sorely need.He has had good patches at collingwood, I think he suffered this season with the experiment of having him as the second ruck option.Given the opportunities and being used purely as a forward, I think he would be a good pick up for us at the right price.I do however think it is highly unlikely that it will happen.

If Collingwood are replacing Dawes with a 29 yo Quentin Lynch, then that says enough for me.

Listening to Rocket on AFL 360, they see Dawes, Lynch still playing together just as Leigh Brown did when he was at the club last year.

Listening to Rocket on AFL 360, they see Dawes, Lynch still playing together just as Leigh Brown did when he was at the club last year.

What would he know?

Wouldnt mind Dawes.. Might actually help if we made him the no.1 Target up forward giving him confidence. You never know what he is capable of becuase he has been under Clokes shadow all this time.

Dawes? He's absolutely woeful as the second key forward in one of the best sides in the league. That would be a disaster.

The rumour going around is that we offered a 3 year contract to both Bell and Casboult, with a plan to secure one of them. Pretty good thinking/poaching, although I don't know much about them.

Both look like strong, aggressive footballers but they lack polish.

The fiirst thing I thought when I saw that Colllingwood were looking at Lynch was 'replacement Leigh Brown". He'll do most of the donkey work while Dawes and Cloke kick the goals.
