Rumour is that we have offered Collingwood picks 41 and 47 for Dawes. Collingwood want 21 and 47.

If we got him for 41 and 47 I would be happy.

I wouldn't be. He really is a very poor player.

Personally - I'm not keen on any of those three names. Murphy and Gilham have been around for a while without impressing too much. I'm not a fan of Clinton Young. His effort against Kieran Jack late in the GF summed it up a bit.

Murphy and Young are both unrestricted Free Agents. They're in a pretty good position and they'll find new clubs if anyone's interested.

What's serious and whats not, there's a lot of rubbish out there. I read a report on Twitter (I think) that we're interested in Lachie Hansen. We're pretty much linked to any tall player available so take it which ever way you choose.

The Ash Hansen talk was just messing around GVG.

Good point azabob, what needs to be determined is who is the better footballer? Dawes was forced to play the second ruck role in 2012 compared to 2011, so maybe that didn't suit him. He kicked three vital goals in the prelim last year which got the Pies into the GF by less than a goal, so he has some ability. Not sure on Hansen, haven't paid too much attention to him.

Hansen has great hands, a big body and can kick the ball a distance. I've watched Hansen play almost every game he's played at AFL level (as my wife is a passionate Norf supporter) and she and I would agree that Hansen is also physically and mentally soft, can't stay in the moment and apparently not a consistently great trainer.

Why would North be shopping around a player selected with a very high draft pick who is well built, tall, can mark, can kick?

I really doubt that Hansen fits the profile that BMac is looking for. Maybe the club will see something in Hansen that I don't, but if we want a recycled key forward I'd favour Dawes over Hansen and Gumbleton.

Collingwood got the better deal with Wellingham IMO.

He is their 6th? best midfielder and managed to get a first round pick for him. West Coast paid overs, Collingwood always seem to come off better when Trading.

I want us to trade like they do.
