He said all the right things on how he loved Sydney and how playing in other positions and doing the team things was good for his development etc but in my opinion those who had any doubts that he wants to be the primary target in a team shouldn't be concerned about that.

Watchingthe Weagles, - would Josh Kennedy be someone we look at? Would he be interested in returning to Vic?

I wanted him when Carlton traded him in the Judd deal, but seeing as he's a WA boy originally, I'd be surprised if he'd move back to Melbourne again.
I'd love to get him but it'd be expensive and unlikely. He is about to turn 27, so probably only getting 3-4 really good years from him given the way he plays.

ahh ok thanks - didn't realise he was WA and the age might actually put him beyond our bracket. Did not realise he was that old!

To me now that Leon Cameron has confirmed there is a spot for all 3 of Cameron, Boyd and Patton I think it's as good as indicator that they aren't available for trades this year or anytime soon.

This puts Reid back on my wish list that we at least try and talk to Sydney about him.
I heard it too, it was an interesting interview.

I like his ability to play both ends of the ground and think he'd be a great fit for us. He seemed to suggest in a roundabout way he enjoys being the man and believes he's capable of it, but is also a very team driven player and willing to do what is required for the team in the pursuit of success.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Would you do our 1st and 2nd rounders for Reid and Jaskch?

Something like our 1st+2nd to Sydney for Reid and their 1st, then ontrade their 1st for Jaskch.

                Doesn't work for me.

Sydneys first round pick is as good as gone as they need it for Heeney.
Our 2nd round pick is likely to be used for Zaine Cordy

I applaud the thinking, but 5 and 23 for a fourth and fifth string forward wouldn't have my support. But I'm only one person.

Yep same. If we're are trading the farm it has to be for a gun or just keep hitting the draft.

Bit harsh considering he is behind two exceptionally talented key forwards. I'd seriously look at Reid ( not with pick 5 however)
He can swing back as well ( which we need) as well

If Reid could play no 1 forward and Jacksh CHB than it would be a good deal - god knows we need a spine.

The problem is can Reid play no 1 forward? he said he could in an interview a few days ago, but do people think he actually could?

Pick 5 and Minson for Patton? That should guarantee GWS get Petracca and they get a big bodied ruckman to help out their mids. Minson's trade value would still be high (ruckmen always take longer to develop and therefore have longer career expectations at the back end) but it will diminish rapidly next year.

Looked okay, very much a Stringer or Crameri sized running forward though. Will probably be a good player but we're overstocked.

I'm starting to firm against trading our first rounder simply because we have a few more holes than most of us had considered. We need a key back just as badly as a key forward, I'm not convinced on Roughead and there seems to be little internal faith in Roberts or Talia, the cupboard is empty. If Durdin is still on the board and could be as good a key back as most are tipping I'd hate to see us pass him or someone like him up.
