Yep that's the way I see it too. If that's the he cost its way too high for me and I'd rather just stick to the draft. The curse is dead.Comment

Re: Is it time to make a big move?
Unlike a lot of others I think we have enough developing talent on the list in our key forwards and backs to keep our cash and players together for one more year before pulling the trigger. I say this because in my view we're coming up to a season where more things in middle of the ground should click more frequently making life easier for the book ends, ergo, allowing them to show their development and worth more openly.
If we allow this development to take place, or allow it to fail I don't really think we'll be in a worse position next year than we are now in terms of trying to secure out of contract players who could fill their positions and be value for money.
Right now I see our biggest exposure is doing our balls on salary for not enough reward.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment

I'd do that with only a small amount of trepidation, which says to me it wouldn't be enough to get it done.

It runs both ways though - I'd expect most of the GWS kids to show even more next year too.Comment

Re: Is it time to make a big move?
The few articles I have read lately indicate how happy Patton is so happy living in Sydney and playing there. Can't see GWS letting Cameron or Boyd go either. I think a more realistic discussion and a more realistic chance would be possibly acquiring either Jansch, Tomlinson or McCarthy. Not sure what GWS would want for any of those three.Comment

The few times I saw him he was a lead up forward. Tall a good mark and a very good kick too.Comment

Re: Is it time to make a big move?
Adam Tomlinson is a versatile tall who can play at either end of the ground but has developed as a key forward in the first few years of his career. After being selected by the GIANTS with pick nine in the 2011 NAB AFL Draft, Tomlinson made his debut against the Swans in Round 1, 2012. With impressive speed and agility for his size, the Victorian was recruited from Trinity Grammar School and the Oakleigh Chargers.
If Tomlinson’s first year in 2012 was a little disappointing as he adjusted to life at AFL level, it was quickly forgotten in a stunning campaign in 2013. Featuring in 17 games, he topped the club with 127 marks for the year, including a club-record 14 against Adelaide in round seven. Averaging 16 touches for the season, his size, athleticism and versatility make him a nightmare match-up for opposition sides.

Can we recruit Orlando Bloom? Anyone that punches Justin Bieber in the face is my kind of man. So jealous of him that he does what we all wish we could do.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment

Obviously didn't see the punch - made some of Roughead's spoils against Essendon look half decent.- I'm a visionary - Only here to confirm my biases -Comment

Re: Is it time to make a big move?
I listened to Sam Reid on the radio this morning and whilst he diplomatically answered all questions he made it clear he thought he could be the primary target in a team in fact he did it before the arrival of Tippet and Franklin.

To me now that Leon Cameron has confirmed there is a spot for all 3 of Cameron, Boyd and Patton I think it's as good as indicator that they aren't available for trades this year or anytime soon.
This puts Reid back on my wish list that we at least try and talk to Sydney about him.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"Comment
