Re: Recommendations of All Things Netflix

I've been watching Animal Kingdom, and I can honestly say that it is the most bland filler going about at the moment and I'm ashamed to say I've almost finished three seasons of it!

And when I talk about shame it's on par with the shame that I felt watching a couple of seasons of Suits. This show is literally Suits but with criminal protagonists instead of corporate lawyers. It is rubbish.
    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Have they tried to rip it from the storyline of the Australian movie of the same name. And great movie.

Yeah it's based on the movie. Unfortunately it's been glammed up/dumbed down for the American market and the Smurf character just doesn't have the chilling nature about her that Jackie Weaver does, and that while the Pope character is actually pretty good if not a bit too wooden he's not able to deliver like Ben Mendelson did.

But it's on a hiding to nothing, because you can't maintain the intensity that was on display in the film for multiple seasons of a TV show. That's two hours type stuff (a bit like Snowtown), but it's what the story relies on to get through.

If you want mindless fodder between the better shows, then it's not too bad.

Thanks J-Man. I think i have two weeks at best before I have to drop down a level of shows.

I simply cannot wait. It's what I'll be watching at lunchtime tomorrow.

Michael Jordan is your quintessential sporting borderline narcissist. Also a borderline hopeless case as well. How he managed to keep it all together and make the most of the support cast he had at his disposal is pretty amazing.

I'm interested but I'm not up for 10 hours worth. Maybe if someone could come up with a 2 hour condensed version I would be on board!

I'm glad someone else is not that interested. I was starting to feel lonely up here on my high horse
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

                  It’s a gradual release over 5 weeks so it’s a slow consumption

Well, the first 2 eps were fantastic. The footage is brilliant and the focus on the dynamics with Pippen and Krause in the 2nd ep changed it up.

They were really good weren't they.

Can you imagine how much you'd be getting eaten up inside as Pippen throughout that time.

Loved the first two episodes of the The Last Dance. If they were all available I would have binged every episode. It was good how they went back and forward in time to tell first the MJ recruiting story and then then the Pippen one.

Still hard to fathom that MJ in his second season, coming back from a severe foot injury, drops 63 points on Larry Bird’s Celtics on their home deck in the playoffs. Unbelievable .... and the Bulls still lose!

I used to watch Come Fly With Me a lot......and I didn't put together how amazing that was at the time as I was only 11-12 years old. The Lakers were my team back then, and I was a Magic Johnson fan. Anyway, he retired and I kind of became team-less always followed Jordan afterwards.

It's good to see a fair amount of what seems to be candor from everyone who has been interviewed these first two episodes.

                              Jamie Siddons came from Portland.

This is what is so wrong with most TV shows nowadays, documentaries, drama's, sitcoms, it doesn't seem to matter.
The shows are stretched out, full of repeated narrative, not cut as they should be allowing them can sell more episodes to the networks.
