In short, a fantastic album from start to finish, and one that keeps rewarding the listener with each new listen.
My daughter saw them when they were out here. In fact I enjoy the album as well, probably due to the influences coming out load and clear yet with a modern sound.

After 16 years The Avalaches finally are about to follow up their award winning, highly acclaimed and influential debut album. Franky Sinatra is the first single of Wildflower and it's a cracker if you like the bands style and sound. So excited and have been waiting so bloody long, I had given up on this ever happening.

Has it really been that long!, I guess it has, boy does time fly.

I'll have to check this one out. I still regularly listen to one of their mix tapes they did years ago, it rocks.

A compilation Jay Reatard's band The Angry Angles' complete recordings just got released last week. Logically it's awesome; has some Oblivians covers as well as their own stuff, and the whole thing is perfectly poppy dirt punk.

I'll have to check it out, loved Jay Reatards work and was so sad when he passed.

Been listening to The Skeleton Tree by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds obsessively over the last few days. Very heavy record as it obviously deals at times with the death of his son. Intensely beautiful in parts, dreamlike and flows seamlessly. Nick has been a master for a long time but takes it to another level here. Definitely rewards repeat listens, can't recommend highly enough.

PeanutsPeanuts you have summed it perfectly. I'm glad you did, as my words cannot do it justice.

I bought this album first week it was released. Finally got around to playing the Sunday after our Grand Final Win. And I am glad I did, so I could give it the listening time it deserved.

With each listen, and trust me there have been many, not only does my favourite song change, but my favourite lyric or verse or chours or piece of music change.

Nick has managed to release another unique album that sounds like nothing like his previous releases, but intrinsically is Nick Cave.

Nick Cave is considered a god in my house. My kids know never to interrupt a Nick Cave song unless there is something actually on fire.

                        Iggy Pop too.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Rings of Saturn is the one I'm really thrashing at the moment. I love the last couple of verses they are word perfect (I know a woman with rainy hair and who has eyes that makes air buckle and rush into them) and Nick almost raps in the chorus.

Cheers Azabob. My love for the record hasn't waned at all. I've played it obsessively over the past few weeks, it is a wonderous work. Although it's one of the simpler songs, the one that really kills me is Girl In Amber.
