Yeah picked it up too, despite my wife vomiting hate at the title track when I played it from the net the other day. I don't think the mp3ness did it justice. Interested to see the direction the album takes.

Also been really enjoying the 2 Das Racist mixtapes that you can download for free from their web site. Long but plenty of good stuff.

      Love them!
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

You might just have to download it. It's for sale here.

Can't help but think it owuld be universally loved by all teenage stoners circa 1994

I appreciate the sentiment of your post but I must say I was an early 20s stoner circa 94 and believe me I wasn't listening to stuff this quick. I was listening to Sabbath, Budd, Cathedral and St. Vitus and other tortured poets like Layne Staley from A in C.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Re: Recent CDs bought & your reviews

Just bought The reissued some girls album (rolling stones)

Comes with an albums worth of out takes.
The out takes are just as good as the album.
There's the odd clanger and some songs you get a sense needed to be worked on more.
Micks dabbling with his 'singing like a wanker' technique.
But there's also some absolute gems here.
If you're a stones fan, it's like finding a new stones album from when they were still good.

I'm left wondering what else they have hidden away.
Here's hoping there's lots of it and it will all come out over the next few years.

Maybe they'll even remember how to make a good record

Deep Sea Arcade's Outlands is pretty awesome. Probably going to end up being my album of the year.

Likewise for me with AIC - I've been joking with friends that Curl of the Burl is AIC's best song in years.

Mastodon put in another solid effort at billboard a few weeks back - don't like it as a venue though.

I really liked the single 'Girls' though this nagging thought that his voice was Elliott Smith's reincarnated wouldn't leave me (not a bad thing) Does his voice sound like that through the whole album (or to you at all?)

Yeah it does, but I don't mind that.

If you like 'girls' then you are going to love the rest of the album.

Got the new Future Of The Left album in my hot little hands and about to listen to it for the first time..........................so excited.

Children Collides album is one that I've just finished listen to and even though it wasn't nearly as good as their first two records(which I love to bits) it was still OK and worth a listen if your into that sort of thing.

The Hives latest 'Lex' was seriously crap, which was sad as I'm a pretty big fan of the band and was pretty let down by what they put out.

I bought both of those CD's today along with Japandroid's "Celebration Rock" and El-P's "Cancer 4Cure". Haven't had a chance to digest yet, but will report back.

                              Chuck Ragan - Gold Country.

Very enjoyable album from the former Hot Water Music member. Enjoy music that I can pick upend play along to at the moment, so a bit of acoustic rock and country goes don well.

Are there any fans of theGOset here? I picked up their latest release, self titled album recently and really rate it. They have flirted between between the Celtic-Punk, folk rock, pub rock type sound with some Midnight Oil-like material and have got a nice, unique Australian sound IMO.

Journey of a Nation is a terrific effort as well.
