Given how amazing their catalogue is, it's surprising they didn't take things further. However, I did hear one of their issues or their main issue was Davies struggled with live gigs. Can any of the older farts around here like YHF and TD confirm this?
Not that I know of. I read somewhere that they played over 1000 times as Flowers before they even became Icehouse. My mum really liked Brian Ferry and took me to see Roxy Music with Flowers (not long after they released Can't Help Myself) supporting them and I remember they were pretty good live. Maybe it was big venues/stadia that he struggled with?
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

His 3 songs off 'Unmasked' are all total ear candy and pure pop perfection. I get it's not his band, it is Paul and Gene running the show. I just love the Ace tracks.

I'm also a sucker for meaningless drum fills, and 'Talk to Me' (and 'Shandi' off the same album) have some of the most gloriously ridiculous and completely unnecessary drum fills. So does 'Two Sides of the Coin', another top shelf Ace gem from Unmasked.
What did you do to the real Sedat? He's never this detailed or explicit with his preferences. Their drumming was hyper-produced/ refined.

From memory you are a Prince fan, and he started out on the glam side of his genre. Is it something about the glam style that resonated more? I'm assuming by the likes of Poison, GnR and the other glam metal bands weren't your bag?

Glam was a nice offset to what was happening with disco, prog-rock etc. but I don't reckon people understand how influential it was.
        TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

This tune doesn't put me in a great mood, but it's sentimental, and instrumentally it's pretty cool. Ed finishes it off well with some good vocals that people read too much into. It's got everything for its time.
My favourite band. I didn't get to see them on their first tour but have pretty much every time since. Don't worry they will be back in the next year or two.

Mudhoney is the best of the Subpop/Seattle bands I reckon.

There were a few I reckon. Breakfast at Sweethearts, Star Hotel, Conversations, Flame Trees, Goodbye (Astrid Goodbye)*, Shipping Steel, Just How Many Times, Four Walls, and Ita.

I've got a few of their albums I like them, Mark Arm has a good voice.
Suck you dry is probably their most poppy and palatable.

I like Blinding Light from Piece of Cake.

I was being facetious. Don't you know me by now?

I'm referencing all the dolts that take offence when a band makes some kid of political statement without any sense of understanding that particular band's history/roots/beliefs.

I call it "Paul Ryan Syndrome".

How's it going with that contract thread you keep talking about making? Still yet to see any progress.

Duh, I should have known. Tone is hard to pickup in text.

Much like our ruck division the contract thread is a work in progress. Some don't rate the importance of the contract thread at all, whilst others believe woof can never be successful without it.

We went to a shopping mall
And laughed at all the shoppers
And security guards trailed us to a record shop
                              We asked for Mojo Nixon
They said he don't work here
We said if you don't got Mojo Nixon then your store could use some fixin'
In 1991 (or thereabouts) Mojo Nixon toured Australia supporting the Reggae Led Zeppelin cover band Dread Zeppelin. As a matter of happenstance, I knew someone working on the tour and as a 16 year old, got to spend the afternoon hanging out with Mojo, watched him gaffer tape his guitar together backstage, and stood side of stage while he played one song wearing a cricket helmet that had a can of VB taped to the top of it, imploring the crowd to throw their beers at him and try and knock it off.
That day made an impression me, that's for sure.

I saw Mojo Nixon and Skid Roper play with the Johnnys in the late '80s. I really had to work on my mates coming because none of them knew who Skid Roper or Mojo Nixon were. I played Don Henley Must Die and Elvis is Everywhere for them and it won them over.

It was one of the greatest nights we ever had.
