Yeah I was a raver back in the 90s so theres a bit of nostalgia for me with that type of music.

I think there may be a few The Cure fans around........but I can't recall them being too vocal. As always, I prefer a studio extended mix to show the true brilliance.


And that's probably one of the most nostalgic tunes I've got in my mind and posted here, it reminds of sitting in the high-rider in my mum's late seventies Corrola in the early eighties......before she upgraded to the sickest station wagon of all time, the 1981 2.6ltr five speed Mitsubishi Sigma GLX.....which was silver as *!*!*!*!.

Pre-pandemic she was booked out every week as a DJ, so has missed alot of income. Hopefully she will be able to do something soon.

Had a chane to see J do a unpublicised solo gig at a local hotel in Brissy, but I was mentoring some people in a public speaking course and it was their final speech night, so had to miss the gig.

Well the world's opening up again and Dinosaur Jr tour here three times a year so you're a chance for a repeat.

I saw Dinosaur Jr at the Palace….ahh, the Palace.

First time I saw them was at the Palace. I'd just turned 18 and on Friday night they were doing an all ages gig and on Saturday a matinee show for under 18's.

I went to both shows - I was terrified at the all ages show (it was my first gig as an "adult") and an absolute giant at the matinee show.

Weird times, great shows but. Opened first show with "Out There" and second show with "Over Your Shoulder".

I loved the Palace.

First time I saw them was at the Prince of Wales in 1989 (I reckon, just as Freak Scene was released) halfway through the gig J decides that he can't be bothered playing his guitar anymore so he sat on the edge of the stage and sang while members of the audience stood in front of him and played his guitar for him. It wasn't a bad effort standing in front of somebody and playing their guitar!

In 1989 there was a youth culture TV show on the ABC at 5.30 weeknights (no idea what it was called but it had a bit of a Nozin' Around from the Young Ones vibe) Anyway one afternoon they had J Mascis on and the girly host said "you must be thrilled to be in Australia?" and J says "Umm, not really" and she says "but it's your first time here" and he says "I'd rather be home" "so why did you come? " J says "not really sure, I think somebody made us come" by this stage we were literally rolling on the floor laughing

This would have to be my favourite current song atm and it makes me happy. If you are a fan of dreamy electro I guess you could call it pop Rufus Du Sol are masters of it. Their latest album is gold.
