I did too, makes it so easier to follow with the slang and speed talking of some characters.

Smashing through so much content on YouTube relating to the meta-crisis/meaning crisis/sovereignty etc.

Check out John Vervaeke, Jordan Hall, Paul Vanderklay, The Stoa if you want to go down the rabbit hole.

                  Glad you enjoyed it.
The Wire by far is my favourite show of all time. I’ve watched more times than I care to remember and will continue watching it.
It’s the one show I don’t binge - I will watch 1-2 every couple of nights. So much to take in and you pick up new things each time you watch.
Oh, and the one must is always, always you must let the into song play in full.

I reckon that I watched that fist episode at least 6 times before it suddenly 'dropped' and I could understand what the characters were talking about. But when it did, boy oh boy oh boy what great television!

                    He walkin'. Omar is moving

They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Each version is so unique and fits the season really well.

For me it is season two and Tom Waits. It fits so well with the working class theme of the season.

Do you have a particular favourite version?

I find each time i watch the show I have a different appreciation of the characters.

PS, Im sure you could write a PHD on The Wire and I'd gladly read it and provide feedback!

Here's a question. If Dominic West and Idris Elba were native to Baltimore do you think the accents wouid be easier or harder to understand?

The classic antihero, is Omar. Thanks God for HBO, I can't imagine any mainstream TV network executive allowing Omar as a central character on a show 15+ years ago in America (to their great loss). I guessed roughly how his character would be phased out, but a large piece of me wanted him to get on getting through his 'to do list'. But that's not The Wire way. I like his explanation to his boyfriend about what they were doing, 'it's not what you take, it's who you are taking it from'.

Not sure on the best version of the song. I need to watch again. 1, 2 & 5 possible leaders.
