Unreal finish in the Shield game between SA and Tas. SA win by just two runs Riley Meredith runs himself out when he didn't really need to. 4 runs down with one ball to go and with the ball in the fielders hands he turns for a 2nd run which wasn't going to win them the game. It should have been a draw.

Watching some BBL at the moment and it's a real run fest.
Philippe is a monster with the bat. Is he in the mix to play ODI or T20 cricket for Australia?

Has to be in the mix. Particularly T20 opening. Short deserves the opportunities he's getting. I feel like bowlers are working him out now though.

Stars were absolutely humming along until the Power Surge. Seems like that does more harm than good for the batting side.

I don't really like the BBL but it's worth noting that the 3 innings completed in today's games so far have all had scores over 200 with the Adelaide Strikers just scoring 5 for 251.
Is it good for the game or more enjoyable to see such big scores posted?

I see Short hit 106 off 54 balls. Steve Smith 121 off 64 balls

I prefer the bowlers also get a chance, but it seems the game is set up for big hits

Amazing that with 1 game for every team to go that every single side still has a mathematical chance to make the BBL finals.

Hobart and the 2 Sydney sides have qualified with the other 5 teams vying for 4th position.

Also amazing that the Stars are in the box seat for 4th after losing the first 5 games. They are also the only team that doesn't have to rely on other results - win and they're in. I'm taking the kids on Sunday to the MCG but it will be a tough game against the form team of the comp in the Hurricanes.

Nice to see the Stars make finals after a horrid start to the season

As a Tasmanian watching this it was an incredible performance.

When Thunder batted they looked on track for over 200 with Warner and Sangha getting to 97 without loss in the first 10 overs.
Nathan Ellis and Riley Meredith fought back with the ball, but when the Hurricanes batted they simply destroyed the Thunder bowling.

Mitch Owen was sensational with a century off 39 balls with 11 sixes. He sure can hit it.

It was a fantastic innings from Owen.
                          one of the best ever.

Crazy batting by Owen. At only 23 he looks to have a future in short form cricket at least for Australia.

With that performance he must be on the radar of quite a few short form teams.

He could be making plenty of money around the world in a relatively short time.

Shield is back and Harry Dixon made a good half century on debut in the middle order for Victoria. I'm a big fan - he's a top order bat by trade and played very well at the Under 19 World Cup last year. I thought he was Australia's best player in a line-up that also included Sam Konstas.

He and Ollie Peake are the future of Victorian batting and I think both will score a lot of international runs.
