    There were some interesting scores
Dixon looked good and I saw a Hanno Jacobs bowl for NSW and he looked to have good pace.
    That WA wicket was shocking

Konstas came out like he did on Boxing Day v Victoria at the SCG today, playing lap shots, etc. Facing Boland he was bowled for 10 off 7. He's got talent but is anybody else concerned with his approach? Looked like he was playing a T20 against one of the better red ball bowlers in the world at the moment. It worked against Bumrah but I'm not sure it's advisable too often.

What are they doing with pitches for the shield.

Last week at the WACA SA won by 6 wickets but didn't score 200 IN TOTAL

This week SA all out for 93 in Adelaide and Tas 13/3 in the 4th over.

      Queensland all out for 147.

NSW on a run feast at 226/7

Is the batting really that bad?

Corey Rocchiccioli takes 7 wickets on a day one track in QLD

Did anyone see the highlights of Konstas innings against the Vic's? He gets bowled behind his legs and the ball hits off stump.
He's got some work to do on learning how to build an innings.,

Yes, if there is one bowler you don't show your stumps to it's Boland, Konstas is so far off being ready it's not funny.

I was listening to some discussions today re Konstas.
Everyone was all over his cavalier innings in his first test and 100% backed him to play his reckless shots and now that same approach is working against him by the same fans.

I think those few tests have really scrambled his mind because this isn't what Sam Konstas is.

I've been consistent all along in that Konstas wasn't and isn't ready - and I think the frailty is more technique than shot selection in the way he chases with his hands outside the off-stump. I watched this same guy have real struggles in the Under 19 World Cup with the ball moving away outside off-stump and his compulsion to chase with his hands. That was never going to be rectified after 12-months and a few Shield scores.

The ramps and flicks I'm a bit 'hoo hum' about - that's not his style and he'll get over that soon, but it's symptomatic of a guy who does not understand his game. It was a big factor in Australia winning at the G, but in terms of Konstas' career, it feels like short-term gain for long-term pain.

I don't think he can play in the UK with where his game's at and the selectors have left themselves with few options after not picking him for a dead-rubber series against a poor Sri Lanka. It's going to be very hard to justify leaving him out of that squad unless an opener finds something in the Shield.

I go back to the net session where he was batting prior to the first test and he was trying ramp shots.
Not one of our coaches went back and told him to cut it out which is typical of our coaching philosophy that encourages batters to play their natural game which in this case wasn't his natural game.

He was never ready and still isn't, in fact he is so far off it at this stage it's not funny, i have always been an advocate of the Test team you play your best players no matter what even if some are the wrong side of 30, it's no stage for development and playing players who may look like having a good future but are clearly still learning the ropes, Konstas and Connelly are classic examples of that, i remember when Dave Warner hit the scene and was this hard hitting short form of the game speciallist, but he grew his game to the point of valuing his wicket but keeping that attacking natural game style, it's all about getting your eye in, reading the play as you're out there, not just throwing the bat around at anything, i think the selectors clearly got it wrong and maybe forcing themselves to play these players because the likes of Smith & Uzzie may not be around in two years time.

Konstas made 17 from 44 today (and I did notice him at 1 from 21 at one stage) so it seems like he took a different approach in the second innings.

I know there are conditions and situations that lend themselves to differing batting tactics but the chopping and changing of his method he seems to be doing every time he bats doesn't seem a wise strategy to me.

Lachie Shaw is one to remember as a potential lower-order hitter/finisher in short-form cricket. I haven't seen much of him but he's played some lovely shots batting 6 for NSW against a pretty good Victorian attack.

Have you had a chance to look at Hanno Jacobs from NSW yet?
He's not quite economical yet but he bowls a lot of quality deliveries as well.

Cricket is changing in a big way in the limited over versions.
NSW made 310 off 50 overs, the Vics are 1 for 151 off 22. They've got to start giving something back too the bowlers.
SA make 329 off their 50 overs. Tas have a massive score to make.
To balance it out QLD was all out for 141 against WA

I'm watching Mitch Owens blitzing SA at the moment. Unreal batting.
He is 39 off 13 deliveries.

I've caught a bit of it. Massive hitting.
The Vics reeled in the 310 they were chasing with 12 overs left.
