Re: NBA Thread
100% agree with what you have written, but still stand by my comment that I can't see them give the defensive player of the year to someone who's team (at this stage) has the 14th best record.Comment

Re: NBA Thread
Bump! surprised this thread hasn't been active.
Some great first round playoff action so far, Lakers/Hornets & Hawks/Magic have been very good.
Who would have thought that Memphis would be in the box seat against the Spurs? surprised me.Comment

Re: NBA Thread
I noticed a few of you guys above have picked a few of the award winners so far. Obviously the two Bulls guys will win MVP & coach to finish it off.
Anyone want to give a Championship winner, who they'll beat and some reasoning?
I'd love to hear it.Comment

Re: NBA Thread
I'm now going to go against myself and pick Miami. All year I have been saying they won't win but the Bulls seemed very unimpressive in the 1st round. Either Miami or Boston - the winner is coming out of the East IMO.
Lakers look terrible and I doubt they win the conference, Spurs are gone, Oklahoma too young and egotistical. Funnily enough Memphis might be a shot.Comment

Re: NBA Thread
Memphis actually tanked the last two games of the season (benched all their starters) to ensure they got San Antonio in the first round.
They match up superbly with them, splitting the regular season 2-2.
They won't get past anyone else playing on the road, I believe they get the Lakers next.
I'm liking the Celtics right now with Rondo back to his early season peak formDoing my best to use emojis more frequently :oComment

But to be fair they just scrapped home in the first two games and the two NY games the Knicks were injury ridden.Comment

Re: NBA Thread
If he does leave or they trade him the roster will be a mess. It is built around Howard and without those shooters don't get the good looks anymore.
It'll be interesting to see what they do, the inside/outside is not working and won't win them a title.Comment

Re: NBA Thread
We need someone who will create their own shots. JRich was supposed to be that but he has been hopeless. Same with Turk.
The roster is an absolute mess at the moment with Turk and Arenas being on monster contracts that cant be moved. Should trade Dwight in Jan next year if they can't do anything else with the roster and he hints at wanting to leave.
Oh and go Memphis!!Comment

If I were to pick a team to win at this point I'd go with the Mavs.
I remember Sir Charles Barkley saying earlier in the year when The Spurs were flying that "They aren't even the best team in Texas let alone the West".Comment
