    Re: A League

All I've heard in my experience were victory fans gathering at Southerncross steps and singing .
Look I'm not a fan of the active ends, because some are self indulgent wankers who think they're the game .
As for violence, I've seen more at afl games .
Don't like flares personally, but the issue I have is the over reaction reporting, and the pissing competition of the alf reporting media .

My A-League experiences with my kids has been nothing short of thoroughly enjoyable - both walking to the game and watching the game. My head is not in the sand - soccer clearly has an image problem with mainstream media.

Any so called 'massive clean-up' following a soccer match would be minuscule compared to cricket internationals and the Spring Racing Carnival.

Have all those trees in Easey St and Sackville St Collingwood been repaired after the ferals destroyed and uprooted everything in 1986 when a Barry Mitchell free kick got the Swans over the line at Vic Park? Like I said, there are dickhead supporters in every code, and I hope every last dickhead and their flares are kicked out of the soccer for good - then we can stop hearing shrill bullshit from privileged white media commentators about a game they don't give a shit about and would never go to.
I have witnessed, or been subjected to, all of what I listed plus more. Thoroughly disagree all you want.

I'm sure you have enjoyed the A League with your kids, but I've seen enough Families' nights ruined by these idiots to know that there's a problem.

You keep bringing up flares as though they are the only problem. They're not. Stop pretending they are.

Stop blaming the media. It's not their fault.

I want soccer to thrive in this country. It can't in its current state.

Come to the South End, we dont do any of that shit.

As someone that goes every few weeks it staggers me that people claim to have never seen anything that you mention. The North End for Victory often have flares (although this season it has reduced drastically).

The marches can be great fun but are often ruined by an idiot with a flare or vandalising something on the way past.

I've only heard of one organised fight and that was between the youth of North End and the youth of City active support.

Oh and for those that want fun, family friendly environment sit on the sides and not near the active support. There is never any trouble out there.

South end rarely, If ever, have a drama. It's only the North Terrace that play up for the most part.

Organised fights do happen quite a bit.

$50,000 fine for Victory and 3 point deduction suspended sentence.

Does this really stop the fans? Is it right to fine the club and deduct points?

                        Re: A League

I think they are far too lenient, gives other clubs a free hit so to speak now they have set a precedent.

I've been told first hand from an active supporter from another state what goes on and it staggers me.
They all know each other, they all know who the fighting supporters are from each group, they bait each other online and arrange fights and other anti-social behaviour. I would say that the regular supporter walking to and from the game probably wouldn't see all that goes on.

                          Re: A League

Great to see Timmy Cahill in the A-league even if it is with Melbourne City. Signed a 2 year deal.

Also talk of Ronaldinho possibly being signed as a marquee player (no indication at this stage which team). Way past his best but would be great to have him play in this league.
