I expected Sweden to go through with France. I didn't really rate England, but they are proving me wrong.

The thing with England is that they have some great players but can't do it as a collective. The last couple of World Cups (going out in the quarters) and not qualifying for Euro 2008 which for a footballing nation is not very good.

I would say they have a couple and the rest of the side is pretty average in terms of talent.

The EPL has a lot of great players but lots of them come from abroad. The problem I say is the English haven't produced the home grown talent for them to win a tournament bar Gerrard, Rooney, Lampard etc.

Why not?
Traditionally Sweden have done well against England and in the Euros. France are rebuilding and the English haven't really set the world alight either.

Haven't they gone 23 matches without a loss??

Wish our rebuild (oops re-fresh) went this well.

France were poor at the 2010 World Cup but if they are 23 games unbeaten they must be doing well. They might now be rejuvenated.

After the last WC that would be 21 qualifiers and friendlys against powerhouse teams like Luxembourg, Albania, Estonia and Belarus. Just a couple of real games in Euro.

If France was winning against powerful opposition in their streak then they are very good but against weaker teams they are not bad but not the best in the world either.

Blanc has done a fabulous job after the debacle of the last world cup. He weeded out the trouble makers and slowly added a couple of them back once their were prepared to leave their ego's at the door.

Tremendous effort by the greeks to get over Russia, who have severely underperformed again at a major tournament.

Great job from the Czechs and Greeks in making it through the next stage. The hosts Poland have an early exit along with Russia. This group was a weaker group compared to the other ones.

Roman Abramovich could probably buy Greece right now but he can't buy Russia a spot in the QF of Euro 2012
