Re: Euro 2012
We needed to get to half time on level pegging - unfortunately Ze Germans were able to get one just before the break which forced us to open up in serch of an equaliser. Very good team, Germany."Look at me mate. Look at me. I'm flyin'"Comment

Re: Euro 2012
Against the run of play you did get the equaliser, but that only lasted 6 minutes. The Germans had 70% of the possession in the first half!85, 92, 97, 98, 08, 09, 10... Break the curse!Comment

Re: Euro 2012
Sounds like most of our matches in Euro 2004
I know we equalised against the run of play but keeping Germany scoreless and frustrated through 60-odd minutes would have been a better result psychologically. Teams start to panic and push numbers further forward in search of an opener, exposing themselves to the counter-attack, which we did extremely effectively 8 years ago."Look at me mate. Look at me. Re: Euro 2012
Has anyone seen the Germans play every game?
Reason i ask is because I saw their first game against Portugal & I thought they were not that impressive. They pretty much had the one chance and scored while Portugal created more chances but couldn't put one away. But you always hear the good teams take some time to warm & get into the tournament. so was wondering if they have been getting better with each performance? If not I think if the Italians get through they can get them.
Thoughts on the Germans?Comment

Re: Euro 2012
For anyone who watched the Germany v Greece game was the penalty decision right or was it controversial? I guess it didn't really matter as it was right at the end of the match and the Germans wrapped it up by then.Last edited by Eastdog; 24-06-2012, 01:50 AM."Footscray people are incredible people; so humble. Re: Euro 2012
Hopefully the Italians can get past the English.
The Germans just can't beat the Italians in major tournaments. They own them.
Italy has never ever lost to Germany in either the World Cup or the Euros. They have met 7 times for 3 Italian wins and 4 draws.
Who can ever forget this goal in extra time in the semi final of the World Cup 2006 on German soil:

Re: Euro 2012
Once again the English are knocked out of the knockout stages of a big tournament. I guess this time round the pressure wasn't as much on them as it was previously as they had a new manager. Looks like 2 good semi finals coming up."Footscray people are incredible people; so humble. I'm just so happy - ecstatic"Comment
