Arsenal close to signing Gonzalo Higuain for £22 million, would be a great signing for them.

After a few of our efforts at signing players in recent years I'm going to wait until I see him emerge from the tunnel at Emirates with the cannon over his heart.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Heard Arsene has a big war chest this season to spend, like you i'll wait and see. Fully expect it to be spent on 5 French/African kids for $5 million in total.

Mark Schwarzer has signed on for Chelsea to be Cech's back up. What a great number 2 Keeper pick up. Very happy with this.

He cost £0 to buy and will fill a year until Courtois comes back to the squad to challenge for the number one. Great piece of business Chelsea.

Risky move for Mark as he most likely will be number 2 goal keeper behind Cech and won't get a good amount of game time which is very important for our national team with the World Cup next week.

Really don't think it will matter if he only plays 15 odd games next season, he's a real pro and will be ready physically and mental for the WC. Can't see anyone ready to take the number 1 national spot off him.

One last big pay cheque(and maybe a trophy) and he doesn't have to move house. Makes sense as he's retiring after the WC.

Liverpool have knocked back 30 million from Arsenal for Suarez.

Suarez has claimed "two or three clubs" want to sign him from Liverpool this summer and that he values interest from Arsenal.

Liverpool's leading striker has previously cited what he perceives as unfair treatment by the English media and the Football Association for his desire to leave Anfield yet, in an interview given to the Uruguayan radio station Sport 890 on Tuesday, he said he appreciated Arsenal's recent £30m bid for his services. He laughed off reported interest from Chelsea but admitted he is prepared to interrupt a holiday in his native Uruguay should a potential transfer develop.

Arsenal had a £30m offer rejected at the weekend by Liverpool, who continue to insist the 26-year-old is not for sale and have yet to receive any other approaches for a striker they value at over £50m. Pere Guardiola, Suárez's agent, held another prearranged meeting with Liverpool's manager, Brendan Rodgers, and managing director, Ian Ayre, on Monday during which it is believed he reiterated Suárez's desire for Champions League football. No transfer request was forthcoming. "There are a few options and the club knows that," Suárez told Sport 890. "Are there any concrete options? No, so far there hasn't been any. There are two or three clubs who I think are willing and the club knows that.

Feel for Pool supporters and hope they give him hell next season if he stays in the EPL.
