Just heard that the Saints have called Essendons bluff and said "we are aware Carlton is interested in Carlisle so they can get him with their first pick in the PSD" Nicely played Saints

Swans have flagged their interest in Talia, Crows looking for a tall defender. Two clubs with interest or links in Talia can't be a bad thing if we are to trade him.

Yep. Highest bidder gets him. But to be honest I don't care where he goes as long as he's gone.

I don't think I've actually read it yet...what do the Saints think is a fair price? He's definitely worth more than pick 23, so what's their plan?

First round pick next year? Risky, as I still rate the Saints a bottom 4-5 side (Carlton, Essendon, Demons, Saints), so they're potentially giving up a better pick in a 'stronger' draft.

They've made some decent list management decisions lately, so I won't be disappointed if they make the wrong call!

It really makes sense for the saints to downtrade their pick 5. And we're definitely around the mark with pick 11. If the bombers are into talia as suggested. How about we give the saints 11, hrovat and talia. Saints give bombers 11 and talia. Saints get hrovat and Carlisle. We get pick 5 and take it to the draft? How does that sound?

At a guess I think the Saints understand that pick 5 is overs by a fair way and and pick 23 way too low. Perhaps the fact that Essendon are saying loudly "give us pick 5 and we will do the deal now" before the Saints have had a chance to find middle ground and this helped them decide to push back a bit.

Essendon are know as aggressive traders and I think clubs are prepared to push back on them a bit. To me Essendon are more likely to budge than the Saints.

It adds up and has been speculated on for a couple of days but it's unlikely.

You're over rating our players. Hrovat barely got a game this year and Talia is worth a 2nd round at best. Their value on the open market is low and if my club was the Saints and did that I'd be disappointed.

Agree wholeheartedly with this. The hype exceeds the output by quite some distance.

They mentioned on Trade Radio this morning that he is worth about 400K but wants 600K. I think 400K is overs, 600K just sounds like he has been poorly advised about his abilities.

I guess I'm basing it on the 'fact' that Essendon is already interested in Talia, and Saints are already interested in Hrovat.
And Pick 11 is still a pretty good pick to end up with.

Talia and 11 seems about right for Carlisle.

Talia, Hrovat AND pick 11, seems about right for pick 5.

It's at least in the ballpark. Hrovat and 11 for pick 5 ain't enough I agree.

But the Saints are actually getting CARLISLE and Hrovat for pick 5.

I think when the dust settles it all lands fairly well.

Probably does. Think Saints should play serious hardball though. They have Bombres over a barrel here. PSD is like a gun that shoots blanks.

Young Cat to move home as Geelong seals Dangerfield deal

ADELAIDE is expected to secure young Cats midfielder Dean Gore as part of the deal that will send superstar midfielder Patrick Dangerfield to Geelong.

AFL.com.au understands the deal will include the Cats pick No.9, No.28 and Gore.

Gore was pick No.55 at the NAB AFL Draft but was on the verge of senior selection early in 2015 before he suffered a shoulder injury that forced him to miss seven weeks.

He then returned strongly to be part of the selection mix late in the season averaging more than 20 touches a game at VFL level on at least three occasions.

The 19-year-old Gore was dominant for South Australia in the 2014 NAB AFL National Championships and played 12 senior games for Sturt in the SANFL in that season.

An inside attacking midfielder, the Cats considered him a strong prospect throughout the season and were buoyant about his prospects.

Patrick Dangerfield told Adelaide he wanted to exercise his rights as a free agent and join Geelong at the end of the season.

The Cats did not lodge an offer for Dangerfield but rather went straight to a trade and are expected to secure a deal early in the trade period.
