I just realised that this entire time I've confused Scott Selwood for Adam Selwood. That's fixed up a lot of confusion for me. Especially how he can only be 25.

Richmond has reiterated their decision not to trade key backman David Astbury despite some interest from clubs.

Essendon have expressed interest in Western Bulldogs key backman Michael Talia and have also enquired about midfielder Mitch Honeychurch.

West Coast think they have been ripped off with the compensation the AFL have given them for losing Scott Selwood

I would have thought a 2nd round was more than adequate.

Seems about right particularly given the recent free agent formula changes conveyed to all Clubs. An end of second round compensation pick would put him in the top 30% bracket of earners in the 25+ age group. Whether this new formula holds up remains to be seen.

I hope so, who knows though. The fact the investigation won't be resolved makes it a little more complex, but if they start bidding then it's possible. Or pick upgrading could work too depending on the gaps?

How could Essendon be interested in Talia after seeing Kyle Hardingham make him look third rate in a VFL final?

The answer is obviously they're Essendon, but even for them this seems like a desperate move.

I'm still convinced we can get involved in the Carlisle trade and upgrade our pick 11.
Two pieces of the puzzle are in place. Essendon are into talia. And saints want to downtrade pick 5 to get more than just Carlisle for it. The stage is set. So thinking one step at a time. Carlisle for Talia and pick 11 seems about right. We then just have to package Carlisle with something/someone for saints pick 5. Even future picks? Any ideas?
