As good as May is, I think we have more pressing needs than to spend another top 10 pick on a defender.

If we lose Adams, then a combination of May and Naughton in the backline would be well worth it.

Schache, Boyd, English, May, Naughton that's some spine.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Just having a quick look at Nixon's twitter and he has posted a heap of rumours, like throwing 100 darts at a board at least some of them are bound to hit the mark. Claims to only post them at night so all the media outlets can't copy them.

Amongst Nixon's roughly 500 tweets in the last 24 hours he's also slipped in the following:

            - Suns "chasing" Honeychurch
            - Tom Bugg is "hoping" for an offer from us, or the Saints. Yes you read correctly.
            - Saints keen on Roughy
            - Ben Long wants over to us from Saints
            - Libba unhappy with a one-year deal tabled so chatting to Bombres

... so you can pretty much put a line through all of them.

Speaking of lines, Ricky might wanna lay off them before he tweets.

Ricky's a nutcase but he does get decent mail. Player managers tend to know the lay of the land and Ricky is still tight with them.

                - Suns chasing HC has been rumoured for sometime
                - Other clubs have asked about Ben Long (Saints actually tweeted in response yesterday) and he's ex-Footscray.
                - Libba's contract delay?

Saints have publically said they don't need another ruckman (although they did ask about Lycett early in the piece) and I'm not sure anyone wants Bugg so who knows.

Lethlean was asked about Roughy this morning and he said they weren't chasing him and wishes him good luck to find a club.

Put Jack Martin in the mix with May and GCS can have pick 7, 27, Honeychurch (if they want him) and something else to get it done.

Saints list boss James Gallagher confirms they've made approach to Tom Scully's management, and that there are other clubs into him as well not just Hawks.

James Gallagher: "He's only interested in going to, in his opinion, clubs that are closest to a premiership and that's OK but if that changes, we'd certainly be open to having a conversation with Tom."

I think Scully is a good player - but if he was able to put together back to back contracts on circa $1m per season - then all i’ll Say is ‘well played sir!’.

He's on $500k pa - re-did his contract with GWS and extended the timeframe.

SEN reporting May has toured WO and pick 7 is in play for him.

Not sure how I feel about that if it means missing out on Bailey Smith.

I think Bevo is desperate to get mature players in...surely we can’t go in with a younger all round list in 2019
And I wouldn’t be surprised if smith didn’t make it to 7
I will never see #16 the same!!

I've been banging on about being too young, and whilst May helps this and is a gun, I agree we have more pressing needs in the midfield and up forward.

Do agree with this, but not sure a key defender is what we should be spending Pick 7 on.
