I'm not sure we aren't or weren't interested in May but given our focus on Wingard early on other clubs might have been better placed

Who knows if there is something big bubbling away but I'm going to be happy enough if we keep pick 7 and have West and Khamis heading towards the Kennel. I'd certainly like a bit more but that might not be possible

Maybe if Hogan reduces his demand for an 8 year contract.

Edit: Although his management have denied this.

        Suns doing a fire sale

Hall to North for a pick in the 60's and Scrimshaw and a future 4th round pick for the Hawks future 3rd round pick.

That might just be 3 or 4 picks difference next year

Yep. They're almost literally giving them away at those prices. I hope we've been asking who else they might want to go away, to us for nothing.

Seems the suns problem is culture and gws it’s a money thing.
Both have made huge mistakes in different ways.
One got players in on talent but didn’t check the attitude or make the right environment, the other had a list manager who had no idea on the salary cap problems with in the future.

The Scrimshaw deal is beyond belief. Moving up a few places at the end of the draft basically for Prestia and two wasted years developing a player. The AFL need to take the reigns of this joint it's going under fast.

Finally confirmation that May actually wants out, doesn't sound like we are interested though.

May 'happy' to move to a Victorian club

STEVEN May’s move to a Victorian club remains on track with Gold Coast waiting on a suitable trade before releasing their captain.

Despite a year to run on his contract at the Suns, May has been exploring opportunities to depart one year before he becomes a free agent.

Should Melbourne secure an early pick for the release of Jesse Hogan, the Demons would be well placed to trade for May while Collingwood still holds an interest in the 26-year-old defender.

Fresh from sealing a trade to land George Horlin-Smith from the Cats, Suns list boss Craig Cameron said it was up to the rival suitors to start negotiations.

"He’d be happy to come to Melbourne (city) if something was found," Cameron told AFL.com.au.

"It’s up to the clubs now that are pursuing him to come up with something. At this this stage they haven’t."

Cameron suggested Brisbane’s pick five, which could go to Fremantle for Lachie Neale before moving to Melbourne for Hogan, would provide the linchpin for any May deal.

"We’re at the end of that chain and we’ll wait and see what happens," he said.

The Suns are also expected to finalise an exchange for Kade Kolodjashnij to move to the Demons, a transaction that could involve May.

"We’ll get something done with Kade either today or tomorrow," Cameron said.

"If they come to us with something around Steven then it might be tied into that, that’s a fair way off as I said."

Who knows if we're sniffing around, or have already been rebuffed, but this plainly states he'll go where he's told as long as the Suns see something they like.

If it gets late in the piece and the Hogan deal still isn’t done, May to us looks like the fall back.

I’d take him. He’s better than Wingard.

Has Scrimshaw shown anything, or are Hawks just swinging for the fence here, on a former high draft pick, like they did O'Rourke?

I wonder if we aren't willing to give pick 7 but only next years first, as we offered for Wingard? Trouble is their list is so bad now they are virtually guaranteed at top 3 pick for May next year under free agency, whereas if we improve our pick could be in double digits.

The Suns seem happy enough for a future pick so we could offer our 2019 first round pick.

How badly do we need him? Assuming Adams is gone is having the likes Cordy, Naughton, Trengove, Lewis, Morris, Wood and Roberts already in place enough for us?

Suns seem to think they have enough picks this year and are looking for extras next year. Melbourne are said to be offering a 2nd rounder for next year for Kolodjashnij so it might not be out of the question for us to do the same but with a 1st round pick
They might want a bit more though
