And likely gives another player a go. It’s mostly worked so far.

      Re: Tribunal / suspensions 2024

Bulldogs absolutely must take both West and Darcy charges to the tribunal - West's wasn't a reportable incident, just incidental contact.

Darcy's hit did not cause injury so should be medium impact. High is for players that are subbed out due to concussion and severe is when the injured player misses multiple weeks due to severe concussion and/or bone fractures. High contact was secondary to initial impact with Maynard's back any way, so that gives our lawyers 2 ways to get punishment downgraded to 1 week or a fine.

I know EW won't like this, but to me the Darcy (and West one), are just things that happen in Footy. Yeah, 50 metre penalty, fine. Darcy didn't go for the bump, didn't line him up, didn't hurt him, he was late to the contest, and tried to avoid him but too late.

I though Darcy's was pretty tame. Certainly not something considered super malicious in terms of dirty acts on a footy field.
On the night i thought the free and 50 were about right. However..... If we are serious about protecting the head, then this has to be sanctioned at the tribunal so I am ok with a suspension. Maybe 2 weeks is a little much but i get it. Darce probably takes a bit longer to pull up than a smaller player too.

Agree with the general point but he absolutely did not try to avoid him! He turned and jumped into his back! He definitely could have just wrapped him up in a semi tackle.

He had a split second to make the decision, and made the wrong one. I think there are plenty of footy fans who don't think it's worth a suspension, but based on precedent knew it would be a suspension.
