Re: ASADA issues show-cause notices to Essendon players
This is not criminal law. This is a civil matter and to apply a criminal burden of proof in this setting does more injustice to those who play fair.Comment

Essendon fined $200K plus $20K in legal fees for work Work Safe breaches.
Really only a slap on the wrist compared to what they've blown already.Western Bulldogs: We exist to win premiershipsComment

Re: ASADA issues show-cause notices to Essendon players
For mine, the Work Safe side of this fiasco really isn't about the financial penalties. Imagine if it was our club that was charged for failing to provide a safe workplace for the young men that are our biggest assets though, and we were so obviously guilty that we didn't even mount an argument to contest the charges?
We'd hound out everyone responsible at the earliest possible chance.
Essendon denied and supported those it knew to be guilty of neglectful, even abusive, treatment of the young men in their care.
That stain will linger for a long, long time.Comment

Essendon hit with a couple of hundred thousand dollar fine and ordered to pay all legal costs on top. Good.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment

Re: ASADA issues show-cause notices to Essendon players
Yes but it is the implication of the work safe breach more than anything else that has the potential to damage the brand and bring them financially to their knees at the hands of litigious (ex)players. But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.Comment

So WorkSafe has $200,000 of Essendon's money. WorkSafe use their money to sponsor us. Perhaps we could cut the middleman out and just have Essendon FC sponsor us
When you point it out to Essendon folks that their WorkSafe fine in some part is funding our club, just enjoy the moment of pure joy.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment

Really? I can't see how or why supporters would change clubs? I understand not supporting a club anymore but to consiously change clubs? I just don't understand it.More of an In Bruges guy?Comment

Yeah it sounds like a long straw that one. Almost every Fitzroy and most South Melbourne supporters I know are neutral. But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.Comment
