Their complicity in the secret nature of the injecting regime, coupled with their duplicity in concealing the extent of this to their own doctor and the ASADA testers, is as damning as anything coming from the Eastern Bloc in the 70's, or the cycling world in the 90's/00's. They are confirmed dopers and drug cheats, nothing more or less than that.

So why are we feeling sorry for these players again? Why is the AFL and the complicit media doing everything in their power to control the narrative that the players are innocent victims in all of this? And why on earth is it even up for debate as to why Watson should be stripped of his ill-gotten Brownlow? Christ we are a naïve, backwards, insignificant little pissant competition if we feel the need to protect the feelings of confirmed dopers, not to mention protect the organisation who willingly and knowingly cheated to gain an artificial advantage over the rest of the competition.

Essendon's "punishment" for systematic, club-wide cheating is to get first dibs on the best talent in the country in the 2016 ND, and to be given a golden ticket of 10 top-up players by the AFL (with no impact on salary caps) so that they can be artificially propped up and remain competitive in the 2016 season. If they cannot survive on their own two feet, I'm sure the Apple Isle would be all too willing to step in provide an 18th team. Or even Fitzroy could get their license handed back to them, as a show of remorse by City Hall for the appalling way they were left to die by the AFL in 1996.

Why would we give Fitzroy back their licence? Those bastards tried to kill us in 1989, they can go and get stuffed as far as I am concerned.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Well may we say God save the queen, because nothing will save the president of Fitzroy.

Cheers mate. Couldn't think of his name. I thought of using that Barwick kid that played for Fitzroy (and Collingwood from memory) They used to call him the Governer Gerneral after Garfield Barwick who was actually the GG.

It's funny how we're meant to sympathise with the players, yet we condone the East Germans, Russians, and the Chinese for their doping regimes . I'm not sure the wrath of Hird would be quite as harsh as the wrath of those communist politicians for not taking part .

Scariest word I ever saw on Woof was resign with the - missing.
Nearly had a heart attack a few times over the years because of one little line.
But despair turned to elation once it was added.

I remember a few years (decades) ago Tim Webster on a Sports Tonight promo reading: "Nathan Buckley resigns at Collingwood", when he should have said "Nathan Buckley re-signs at Collingwood", sending the Channel 10 switchboard into a frenzy. Was a big deal in a (largely) pre-internet world

Years ago I started a huge panic on BigFooty when I left a semi column out of a Nathan Brown resigns! thread title.

Hal Hunter to sue Essendon over suppplements.

Would love to see this go all the way to trial and to see Hird, Dank, Reid and others testify under oath. At best for Essendon this will be another $1million+ drain on their finances in order to buy Hunter's silence.
