Where young men are indoctrinated from a young and impressionable stage in their life that the footy club is what matters most and that you need to 'do the right thing by your mates'.

Its that mentality that has allowed this saga to unfold. It has allowed coaches at grassroots clubs to have their players taking ice before a big game to pick them up. It has turned a blind eye to young men risking permanent pain and disability to 'get through the next game'.

The game's ruling bodies need to start pushing back a lot harder on the clubs that tiptoe on the edge of the rules.

You and can agree to disagree about a lot of this saga but there is no way in the universe that sort of crap should be going on. I agree 100% with what you say there. That shit ain't right in any way
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I heard him speak a few times last year and he was often very critical of Essendon. I'm a bit surprised that you include him in this. Was he very pro Essendon prior to this?

Essendon have withdrawn on their threat to charge him with court costs.

My only recollection of Rohan Conelly is being critical of the whole saga.

Agreed, everything I've seen from Connolly on the saga's been fairly even-handed.

As for just-anointed Quill award winner Robinson however ...

I can remember players snorting speed in local footy back in the day and thinking how stupid they were for thinking it was going to make them play better. Sweat more, sure. Risk a heart attack, most likely. Play better, no.

We'd ingest pseudo via sudafed in the early 2000's, personally I only did it twice when I hadn't slept well or was a titch cold ridden. I hated it.

To think anyone would condone hitting a glass BBQ before a game is a bit much.
                    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

It happens. Surely it's more maintaining than a performance enhancer though. Ain't too many people with a casual aquaintance to ice.

I've always maintained the position that anything dose wise that is able to get you high can't be performance enhancing.

Ice is different however, and I can understand how its affects would be adopted by the social classes of footy now more than ever. It doesn't make you silly (unless you have too much - much like any drug), and it's relatively cheap and readily available.

It just defies description the arrogance of Essendon .
                          It's truly beyond words.
Connolly isn't as bad as the Cookie Monster Slobbo .
Mark Fine's another one who somehow defends them, but I think he just plays the "I'm a pain in the arse, ring and abuse me" card

Not sure if anyone was watching the Ch 7 post-match broadcast last night. Just as it was finishing, CAS confirmed that Jared Tallent will be awarded gold in the 50km walk from the 2012 Olympics. There was not a hint of irony from the deadshits at Ch 7 cheering wildly at this news and yet turning a blind eye to Watson, also a CAS confirmed doper, being allowed to keep his ill-gotten Brownlow from 2012.

Just listened to the ABC Grandstand interview between Gerard Whately and Brent Prismall from earlier today. Didn't think it was possible to despise the EFC more but that interview did the trick.

Did you see the appeal will only be in written submissions and no one will actually be in court. Highly unusual, and not good for the appeal.
