An Instagram post with non-footy mates.

He wasn't with the playing group sitting on level 2 as far as I am aware.

Jamarra posted an innocent enough photo of him with a mate on Instagram, at about 9.30pm last night (I.e. during the game).

He shared nothing about the Bulldogs game.

While it doesn't mean anything in itself, it's more bad optics and suggests that he was out with mates and not taking any interest in the match.

He might be back training but there is still a big disconnect that needs to be sorted. Not sure why the club wouldn't be expecting him to be present for our AFL matches in Melbourne.

It's really a poor reading on the room decision by Marra. Innocent enough in the whole scheme of things but it shows that he isn't as committed as we would expect.
He's not getting the optics and is living in the moment.

He's copping an absolute flogging on X. Many supporters expect more from him.
I'm not saying he wasn't there but I didn't see him at our VFL game tonight either.
He's going okay at training but it's hard to gauge if he is really on the 2025 journey with his team mates or not.

He doesn’t seem to miss a Melb United NBL match and puts on his socials. There is a tonne of things he could be doing to change the narrative and he isn’t, to me that’s all I need to know about his current frame of mind.

To miss a centenary game for the club was always going to raises a lot of questions but to then post images of himself not being there really does appear to be a calculated decision.
He's fast losing nearly all of the support which is a shame.
How can he justify flying to an All Star game and wanting to play in that as well and then not attend Fridays nights game which was massive for the club?
I guess there are some reasons behind it but it's hard to sell that to supporter based on what they are seeing.

He might argue he didn't want the pressure of crowds, or to take the focus away from the occasion. The best way to show that would have been a post from his couch encouraging his team mates even if he didn't watch the game.

That's the path of least resistance for someone in his shoes. How much noise goes away if he just stays in and pretends? Play the game mate, divert the negative attention. This guns to the head brinksmanship is so clueless of him, even for his age.

I'd imagine that prior to the game the parties were aligned on how to handle the evening. Really wonder how this is going down.

In danger of trashing his value to other clubs if he does want to play AFL elsewhere.

Everyone already knows his value, just like they did Stringer before him. What we see is a fraction of what everyone in the industry already knows.

It's going to be a long year with this.

If it was Lachie McNeil he would have been shown the door by now. I think we all understand that players of Marra's calibre are afforded many more luxuries but there must come a point where the cost factor on resources and on the rest of the playing group becomes too much.

It's getting increasingly difficult to see this situation improving to where he's back fully engaged, playing good footy consistently.

Sad state of affairs and I feel for the club. Rock and a hard place, and it's still only March.

Given what we know, he should have been traded at the end of last year. Like Bailey Smith (and you could argue Dunkley but I’m still ok with the decision to hold him), we’re selling a year late and will get no where near market value.

Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Must be lovely is this day and age to get paid a fortune, not be arsed half the time to show up at work and have no fear of getting sacked.

It's not a great look when so many fans are doing it tough in the real world.

Yeah if he doesn't play this year we'll be lucky to get a third rounder for him.

Fortunately he still has a year on his contract after this year, so we can sit on it if we’re not happy with a deal. I know there’s a lot of pessimism that we would do that, but it does mean we have some leverage if he does want to go.

Probably would have been the right decision but the player has to want to go and to the club of their choice.
