Honestly if he doesn’t play this year and wants out and all we are offered is a third rounder we hold him.

Sitting out for two years would be more disastrous for him than us.

He signed a contract to play footy has he broken that contract? Should we still be forking out the big bucks for no return.

I guess we may be better off without him at the club no matter the pick. Depends how big of a distraction he's becoming.

Also having an extra mil in the cap to use on someone who'll improve us this off-season wouldn't be bad either.

If he's been given leave by the club then he gets paid if that's what the parties agreed to. Everyone is entitled to leave at their workplace.

My issue is for the second year running we will have a star player who is so marketable it is not funny walk out of the club for zilch return.

I get it, but if it turns out they're wankers then we might be better off without them.

                Well there you have it.

I'm also told Marra maintains the full support of the board.

Can't we just leave the bloke alone and let him sort out his issues.

They're going to question it. We just have to play with a straight bat.

Don't the non selected players sit together in one of the super boxes at games at the MCG and Marvel?
I know we aren't made aware of exactly what is going on with Marra but it's a shame that he brings a lot of this on himself.
He's effectively burning through all the good will we had for him and he shouldn't want to do that.
I can't cut him much more slack.

Can anyone actually see him playing this year? After his social media post during the game on Friday night, he isn't playing any time soon. The club have to be political about this which is understandable so another club hopefully gives up something decent. If the guy hasn't woken up yet, will he ever?

I am all for the club helping him out but you can’t help someone who won’t help themselves, not turning up at the MCG on friday but going to basket ball and NRL during the week tells me he won’t play football again . I don’t believe he will get traded who would want him and I don’t think he is interested in playing at all. I think he has gone down a rabbit hole we can’t fix.

I think it's a long shot unless he sees us going alright in the first half of the season and being a chance to make a run at finals. FOMO seems to be a motivating factor to him (as it is to most younger people, and some older ones as well!), given his behaviour in the lead up to the Indigenous All Stars game.

What will be interesting if that scenario does play out, is seeing how hard he's prepared to work on the track, suck it up in the twos and deal with the reality of the club's position towards him over a period longer than a month or so. He's been integrating back into our system for about five weeks and it's been patchy, and while the season proper has commenced and the boys are playing each week, it doesn't seem like that's shaken him to get more involved.

Just saw on X that the Footy Furnace show indicated Marra went to the NBL on Wednesday, the NRL on Thursday and was at Brighton Beach Hotel on Friday even though he had an offer to be at the Centenary game.
If correct, he's not playing for us any time soon.
We have given him a lot of space and tried to be sensitive to his struggles but this is coming across as a calculated move by Marra and it's now harder to defend him.

His team mates appear to be work colleagues not real mates too him.

As per his IG updates he was also at a ‘run it’s event yesterday where he made a presentation.

Understand that it’s a delicate situation, but the visuals are extremely poor.
