He would be a coaches delight with his 'where do you need me' approach to his football..
He's a popular player within the group as well.

Thankfully it's all worked out with him switching back.👍 1Comment

But what last year showed is that he just needed to find the right position on the ground. He’s the kind of player who thrives on confidence and a bit of belief—give him some love, and he’ll repay you.
Imagine if he had played as a defender his whole career. I think he’d be talked about as one of the best defenders.

I pretty much agree with you with regards ALL subjects apart from what's happening with Jamarra...I would literally just let that play itself out without comment.
I do get frustrated though when the club allows good news type stories just to die on the vine. Every press conference and interview is the chance to push an agenda...it doesn't matter what the journo's ask about - bring the answer back to whatever you want it to be...Bevo's relationship with the media and disdain for the basics hasn't helped of course but he's been pretty solid for the last 9-months or so...
Several very respectable people make a similar error of defence when they should promote the good, and so miss valuable opportunities which hurt to the invested.Footscray Football Republic.Comment

The funny thing is, I think Lobb had a bad reputation among other clubs' coaches and teammates. Even he mentioned how Longmire never really spoke to him and just ignored him.

I think he was gone if not for the backline switch. But all with good reason. He wasn't getting a game as a forward so it's not on in the clubs or his interest to stay on. Would've all depended on trade offers.
Thankfully it's all worked out with him switching back.Comment

You need to get an opportunity first before you can grab it
Back to Marra, seems he's on a decent pathway of training with the group again. Hopefully he puts his head down, bides his time and earns his spot back once he's got a solid block of AFL training under his belt.

Win 3 out of our first 5, stay relatively injury free, then bring in Jones, Treloar, Jamara and the BONT, all primed and ready to fire, and there is no telling what we could achieve. English looked to me to be playing with a bit more "edge" during the off season and I really think Davidson is a piece of the puzzle we have been searching for. Nurse Crofty Hines and Jaques till mid-season, then give them the odd game or two, welcome back Weightman and away we go!!!!
Easy really. (SMILING)😀 2👍 1Comment

Lance Franklin extends olive branch to troubled Western Bulldogs forward Jamarra Ugle-Hagan
The goalkicking legend has re-emerged with an offer for one of the competition’s most highly publicised players.
AFL legend Lance Franklin says he would be happy to take a call from troubled Western Bulldogs forward Jamarra Ugle-Hagan.
Ugle-Hagan returned to Bulldogs training on Thursday after his second stint away from the club this pre-season, as he continues to work through personal issues.

The former No.1 draft pick will remain sidelined indefinitely until he gets a bigger training load behind him and returns to full fitness, with off-field issues having derailed his preparation for the 2025 season.
Since being drafted in 2020, Ugle-Hagan has often drawn comparisons to Franklin for the way he plays and the esteem in which he entered the league.
Both were highly touted, athletic, left-footed forwards who were seen as potential game-breakers.
Franklin more than fulfilled his potential, kicking 1066 goals from 364 games for Hawthorn and Sydney. Ugle-Hagan is a long way from reaching his.
If the phone were to ring with the young Western Bulldogs forward on the line asking for advice, Franklin would be more than happy to give him a word to help him get there.
“No doubt, no doubt. If that was to come, I’d be happy to have a chat to him for sure,” Franklin told Sunrise as he launched NAB Auskick for 2025.
“There’s no doubt it can be hard, being in the spotlight at such a young age. Jamarra’s in that situation now.
“I think the biggest thing for him — I can’t speak too much because I don’t know him personally — is just surrounding yourself with really good people, being open, and being in good communication with the club and the people at the club.
“I think that’s the only way you can get through this.”
The four-time Coleman medallist said it’s important to remember that not every player comes into the system with AFL habits ingrained into them from their first day.
“Everyone matures at different stages; not everyone is going to come in and be like Nick Daicos,” Franklin added.
“I think there is going to be different things happen to different players at certain times, and everyone matures at different stages.
“I think it’s just about communicating, just enjoying it and having fun, train hard — but just make sure you’re speaking to people, I think that’s the most important thing, being open.”
Franklin says Ugle-Hagan needs to start with leaning on his close relationships with family, friends and people at the club to build himself back into the fold.
“Probably just that communication, that’s the biggest thing,” the goalkicking legend said.
“There’s so much pressure on players at such a young age these days, compared to what it was a long time ago.
“A lot of players are under the microscope. I think the biggest thing is to have that support around you where you’re able to have chats with people you trust.
“I think that’s the biggest thing as a young kid, just being open and honest and having those open conversations with people at the footy club or your family or friends, and I think that’s the only way you can get through situations if stuff’s happening.”

The dickhead's first crack was because Bailey Smith apparently got all these midfield minutes on the inside and had a great game we won't allow ourselves to be dicked over through a bad trade, using the example of how much better the Dunkley trade was for us even though we got dicked over by only having one club to deal with in that instance..........
A serious football analysis show is what is presents itself as, and this rent seeker's first take on round one is that? What a ****wit.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.👍 4Comment

The media won't help with that regard. I think we are in for many weeks of negativity with the media narrative.
Elijah Hollands has walked away from Carlton but he won't cop the same scrutiny because he's not a #1 pick who's apparently is on big coin and wants a mega deal going forward.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"👍 1Comment

Lets hope Franklin can have a chat too him and help get him refocused.
We love him as a player and he appears to be a nice youngster and it's just a shame he doesn't appear to be able to commit himself to the professional standards required.
