Does anyone know if Jamarra will be playing in the VFL practice games? Sorry if it's already been covered.

The club needs to get on the front foot with a positive statement (true or not) right now, the way this crap is spreading is not healthy for anyone at the club and turning into a massive distraction on the eve of round 1.
We do have PR staff at the club right? Why are we so ****ing poor at managing our image constantly. Something should have been released yesterday morning at 8am. Our president is the head of Disney ffs surely we have some expertise around here?
Just a “we can categorically state that the rumours are not true, Jamarra has rejoined his teammates at the club after dealing with personal issues away from the club and now working through a return to play plan focussing on his fitness etc etc”
Just something simple say a little bit to redirect the narrative without saying anything of substance, I don’t care but say something rather than just letting rumours of fkn guns and affairs spread like wildfire. How dense are we? Constantly letting the narrative about our club be written by everyone else but ourselves, unlike the big clubs. Geelong have a player off his face at a club and the narrative they spin in the media is a medical issue.

'He's now completed 4 weeks of uninterrupted training and is getting fitter with each session and importantly is regaining his touch in the match sims'. 'He's still got a lot of work to do but the progress and momentum is positive'.
If the club posted something like that it would be shredded rather quicklyWestern Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"🥰 3👍 3Comment

What the club says doesn't matter. How "The Agenda Setters" feel is what matters. 'Bulldogs in crisis' and 'Bevo is losing it' gets clicks...’Bulldogs comfortable with Jamarra's progress’ doesn't get clicks.
A statement would not make a lick of difference. We're a small club as far as the media concerned, and a crisis at Dogs/Dees/Norf/Saints or an interstate club is always going to get negative treatment, regardless of the truth.👍 4Comment

Maybe the club are fine with how this is playing out? Obviously people internally have tried to get him to change, and that hasn't worked. Maybe they're ok with externals ripping in? IF Marra did the crime, then maybe he's now doing the time....Comment

Our club isn't generally very active in letting supporters know what is going on, in any circumstances. If I want timely and reliable news, I check in here with the woofers. The truth will set you free,
but first it will piss you off. ... Gloria Steinem.😀 3Comment

Trained the whole session today so it’s all positive.
Maybe the switch has flicked over the last 3 weeks with him back at the club training with the seniors and the lost trust he is starting to pull back . Obviously Bevo and Lobb see it or he wouldn’t be back .Bring back the biff👍 3🥰 1Comment

Say Naughton and Darcy start the season on fire and follow on from their praccy game form against the Hawks do we try Jamarra in defence? I'm going early but it would take a lot of pressure off him (especially with the goal kicking) and might let him play more freely and instinctively. Classic see ball, get ball mindset just like with Lobb. If it does somehow happen I'm not sure what we do with Buku and Busslinger. Am I totally crazy for thinking this is a possibility in the near future?Comment

Good to hear, how’s the “vibe” in the group around him from your opinion of watching training?Comment

There is a bit of a positive story to share but I'd be wary that it will just be picked apart from the nasty media journos and then by the supporters who want the best players picked regardless and are hungry for success.

The pile on might be the kick up the ass Marra needs but it’s not good for the overall group to be under constant external pressure, and whilst some of our supporters get the real rundown in places like here on Woof, the general supporter base is just seeing the fall out in the media and social media.Comment

I do get frustrated though when the club allows good news type stories just to die on the vine. Every press conference and interview is the chance to push an agenda...it doesn't matter what the journo's ask about - bring the answer back to whatever you want it to be...Bevo's relationship with the media and disdain for the basics hasn't helped of course but he's been pretty solid for the last 9-months or so...What should I tell her? She's going to ask.👍 2Comment

If Marra is back in good form a month into the season all will be well. Best ignore the media click-bait rubbish.Comment

I pretty much agree with you with regards ALL subjects apart from what's happening with Jamarra...I would literally just let that play itself out without comment.

I dunno he just seems much happier and healthier in every way right now, 2022-2023 Bevo was just… grim… I really think the club let him down in the support they had around him at the time. He seems much more like his early years self right now which is a good thing👍 1Comment
