I wanted him re-signed last year so not a lot has changed but I'd be more open now to a 3 year deal than I would have at the start of the season.

I was ambivalent but happy to sign him. Now it's a sure thing. 3 years is good.

Edit: I should clarify I wanted to sign him but wouldn't have held it against him if he had said he'd had enough.

After elimination final capitulation I was on fence. Since some of the circumstances prior to that loss have surfaced and our competitive performances this year I’m in the sign Bevo up camp. The depth we have unearthed out of adversity, top notch drafting and recruiting and Bevo’s nurturing is astounding.

I’m loving the use of players in quelling roles (Libba on Butters), Tim playing to his strengths (jumping not wrestling, eye more on ball less on opposition ruck), development of young ones and stunning performance of recycled players. Bevo’s persistence with Tim based upon Tim’s resurgence has to be applauded. I for one had all but given up. If Tim plays anything like he did yesterday we are in premiership window this year and beyond.

Mostly the across ground team defence, happy campers/all in culture and positioning of players to receive handballs in congestion as well as defend if oppo win it. These changes are sustainable. A lot of this is likely due to new assistant coaches and possibly departure of Grant (if gossip of unease b/w them is true). Now Bevo has more time I think to take helicopter view.

My position has not changed, if anything it has gotten stronger.

We should re-sign him for a further three years when the time is right. The discussions should ramp up during the mid-season bye and with everything still on track re-sign him a few weeks before the finals campaign to reduce the noise.

I was never against or on the fence he's the best Bulldog coach I have seen in my lifetime and has now surpassed Rocket by a long way.

I've been vocal for a couple of years and wanted a change.

I've completed a 180 and would sign him for 3 in a heartbeat.

Felt he went off the rails for a few years and was more concerned with picking fights in the media or internally, which became a distraction, but he's been back to his best for a substantial period of time now. I've been impressed in how he's handled the Marra situation.

Aside from Chris Scott, he is the most proven coach in the league and has overcome adversity a number of times. Reinvented both himself and the list in the process.

I'll actually be filthy if we don't re-sign him now. What more do we actually want? He's energised, he's coaching exceptionally well, the coaches and players are unified... Get it done.

Libba makes some interesting comments here (it's a Facebook video)

                Link

Basically being interviewed by Ray Chamberlain, asks about Bevo and Libba says it's all up to Bevo, maybe he just wants to swim and surf all year next year.

Somewhere is this thread I said we want Bevo to coach again but he was in fact the one holding out.

At the start of the year I was in the no category and have transitioned to the wait and see category.

Next 3 weeks are crucial for me. The last 3 years have conditioned me to expect a major slip up and then slide.

I don't mind Bevo but my biggest issue has always been that he doesn't seem to have a Plan B. It's evident his preperation for games is really good and we have a good game plan, but there's been so many games where teams have figured us out and we just can't stop momentum coming back the other way. I was very much Bevo out to start the year but I'm warming to the idea of keeping him, but I'd rather wait until later in the year before we put pen to paper.

I’ll admit, I was one to see him go. Mainly based on team selection, no plan B, and the fact it “seemed” that there was inner turmoil within the playing group, but with Bailey Smith gone, Jamarra out, and team selection based on merit, it seems he has the team galvanised at this point, so yeah, I’d definitely look at how we are travelling at the bye round, and if this continue to go well, sign him by round 20.
id give him 2 years with a trigger for 3rd, based on team KPI’s.
I will never see #16 the same!!

Any news on when we think he will sign? If we wait to long he will start listening to other others I reckon even though he said he wouldn't.

I recon we should just come out and say that we will sit down with Bevo at the bye and work out an offer. We are extremely happy with the progress so far over the entire journey, but as a professional organisation we have plenty of open and honest dialogue between both party’s.

That has some merit but we are caught in a challenging period
We are playing well and especially when you consider some of the players that were missing
If we don't start putting the feelers out with other coaches we might leave it too late and having to rush it at the end.
If we do start canvassing other coaches soon we risk alienating and distracting Bevo and the assistants.

Hopefully we have a plan and a few contingencies to consider.

I don’t claim to be an expert but I’m super confident that Sam has a plan and he knows exactly what he is doing.

fir the first time in many years I am confident we are all over it.
