To the eye West had a better than 3 game.
Only 8 touches, but 5 of them score involvements, 2 clearances, 3 tackles, a vital set shot - I think his moments in the game were really important.
He needs to get his fitness up after his interrupted pre season and have more moments.

To my eye, thought the same, haven't had the time to dig in, and try and figure out why.To the eye West had a better than 3 game.

But I am a Riley fan, so I always see the good, too.
Maybe the disposals that were not score involvements were direct turnovers or ineffective.

Bramble has not been bad at all. He has taken on many more defensive responsibilities, does not get beat, collects ground balls cleanly and does not miss tackles.
Using the ball at a very high rate, with rare mistakes with the ball in hand in the back half, is highly regarded.
For me, he is the definition, of performing his role.

I think he's been fine so far.

Carlton's small forwards were largely anonymous on Friday night, which is a big issue for them, so the small defenders group did a good job.
Bigger task for him over the coming weeks.👍 1Comment

I think he's maybe been locking down more Ive yet to see a lot of run from him like we saw last season.
But your points are valid as are Mantis'BT COME BACK!

100%. I think because of the high risk role he plays, ANY mistakes are very costly, and I think they therefore stand out more prominently to the observer on first glance. I really think he is almost one of the first selected each week now. He's really improved in the time he's been with us and he looks to have confidence that the coaching team back him, and has a clear understanding of his required kpi's from their perspective.

Pretty starkly shows how poor the bottom half of our side were yesterday (as well as some guys who should be top half like Naughton and West).
Baker getting a lower score than Dolan feels off to me - 20 touches at 65%, I'm guessing he lost out on some direct turnovers leading to goals?Comment

Spot on, mate. Some costly errors lead to direct shots on goal or 50 entries.

It also measures if the kicks he did hit (the 65%) were they 20m, sideways with no damage. The rating doesn't care about that kick too much. Bite off, and hit 65% of kicks inside that opens them up, then his rating would be much higher.
That 65% on the AFL stats, would also count a 40m kick, that should have gone straight to an open team mate, but, it got there so slow, get's spoiled out of bounds. That is counted as "effective" when it was ineffective.
He also had some inside 50 kicks that were complete garbage with no retention.👍 2Comment

I said at half time when he was our third highest for disposals that showed where we were at. Not so much a slight on Baker who was trying his butt off, but more an indictment on the others in the team.

The tail was better than last week, also a good sign.
JJ was fit to play, not perform. (Did anyone else notice, he has changed his kicking mechanics? Trying to reduce the eccentric load)
Sanders a big surprise, is the rating system too kind to him?
Stoked with Bramble season.
