Woofers, who do we want at our pick 18 and why?

A good run and carry player, with Excellent to Elite foot skills and a bit of pace. Not sure who that is.

Funny thing is that has been our requirement IMO for the last four years!

A developing tall forward would be nice. Maybe a mid who knows where the goals are (kind of like Sidebottom) with decent footskills. Between those in the team and those developing at Footscray we have a pretty decent balance.

Maybe a ruck if they really show quite a lot.

Yep. You have guys who get it and kick it well and they are worth their weight in gold. An Adam Cooney type would be great....sans the knee

With Hamling gone, Adams going and Moz (God bless his soul) unfortunately unable to go on forever, I'd hope that we bring in some young tall and or agile defenders.

Cordy can go back, no problem. Particularly with Cloke arriving and Redders to come back in. However Cordy's 1.5 to 2 inches shorter than Hamling. We probably should hunt tall defenders - if available and of quality.

Having said all of this, in Dalrymple I trust! He's the best recruiter in the game on recent exposed form.

For now his sticking around just Hamling really was the main key defender that departed. Agree that will need to think about who replaces Morris, Murph and M Boyd - who have all been excellent servants of our club - we need to make sure we look after our veterans well.

Been reading profiles and watching some footage. The player jumping out at me as a suitable prospect in the 15-30 range is Jordan Gallucci. What I like:

                    - Was made co-Captain of Vic Metro, his character, work ethic and leadership are often commented upon,
                    - Looks very composed with ball in hand, good accelaration and strong overhead, can kick either side of body,
                    - Combine testing showed some elite traits; ranked 1 for standing vertical leap (89cm, a whopping 13cm clear of anyone else), also best at repeat sprints (6x30 in 24.36), top 10 in beep test and running vertical jump of either foot.

I've seen him play a few times and he certainly is a very good footballer. I think Comrade was also very interested in him earlier in the year. My only concerns with him are around his kicking and if there is the scope for further improvement in him but if you want a midfielder who can play from round one then he should be in a small group of players we would be after.

I'd say he would certainly be in the mix with the selections we have.

On the stat sheet. Not sure if it's true anymore. Cordy may actually be taller the Hamling now. Footywire has him at 20 years of age on the 27th so he could well be growing/have grown.

There are some pictures around that make him look taller than Hamling

I think we should be looking at two backs and one young forward.
Although with Crameri coming back it's not a must , also could see Crameri and the Bont changing between centre and CHF.
Personally I'm not sure who could stop the Bont at CHF, great in the air and if the ball hits the ground who could possibly compete against him ?

Still a Gallucci fan and he tested extremely well. Do have concerns on his disposal, but he'd suit is IMO.

That's pretty much the only concern I have with him. In general play he reminds me a bit of Rhys Mathieson from last year although the knock on him was his endurance and that isn't a concern with Gallucci.
Gallucci won't drop past about pick 22 in my opinion and really should go well before that.

I think its time we brought in some footballers who can kick. Look at the value of Suckling, with his great kicking.
