I am a sucker for nimble 195cm+ key position types that can crumb as well as they can mark.

But they can be huge busts. You may end up with Jeremy Cameron, or you may end up with Ayce Cordy.

That's true. For mine, the thing that tips the scales in TM's favour is that he has played so little footy (having favoured cricket most of his life), so the scope for improvement is so great. Some even think that, as he builds a tank, he'll be capable of spending time as a super big midfielder.

The other thing that makes him appealing is that GWS tried to claim him as an Academy member but, after other clubs protested, they were knocked back as he had very little time there. It would really piss them off if he ends up at the Dogs.

In the article posted about him today, I liked how he snubbed the GWS Academy, basically saying they had nothing to do with his development so why should they get the rewards. I couldn't agree more with that sentiment.

Grab Marshall & big high on McCreadie. Take two likely KPPs off them. I'd be happy with that.

Macreadie was rated quite highly about a year and was considered a top 10 chance. I wonder if someone will bid on him.

If we go for a key defender and Logue is gone I'd be happy with Maibaum

Maibaum is a good one on one defender who could easily thrive in our structure. I thought he played better last year than this one but is very worthy of consideration.

Do you see him as a key defender or a 3rd tall type?

Do you think Dalryple will go with that? He usually likes to see improvement in draftees.

It's hard to say as well because they say they put a lot of stock in what the family background and character are like but we don't know any of that.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Maibaum looks ok, but I worry that he is too similar to Keiran Collins. 2 of that very specific type may be surplus to requirements. I would be more excited by Jordan Ridley, who is only 1 cm shorter (although lighter), much more versatile, a very good runner and ranked #1 at kicking in the draft combine. He is a good chance to be available at 26 and would compliment our list nicely.

He was All Australian full back this year.

He's a key defender in my view.

It's a good point PP makes about Ridley who has other dimensions to his game. Ridley the more versatile distributing type v Maibaum the more stopper type.

He's just 192cm tall and not overly athletic except for his agility testing which was sensational. I think it's difficult to see him as a key defender week after week at the next level but he might get there.
I talked him up a few times last year but I didn't think his game developed much this year but it's still pretty good.

Brett Anderson mentioned on the "On The Clock" podcast that we have done a lot of work on Cedric Cox for what it's worth.

he's been on that bandwagon for a while now.

Think it's a risky pick myself

He's a player with a significant upside. I think he is more of a pick 26 option for us but it's good to hear we've done our homework which is what SD is known for.

                                11 - 6 in the Beep, 11:58 in the 3km.

Fair to say there is a lot of work to do on his endurance.

He did well in a lot of the other testing and was in the top 20% for the repeat sprints and agility test and the top 10% for both the 10mtr and 20mtrs times.

I'd back him in to get a lot better endurance over time.
