Re: 2016 Draft Watch
I've had a good look and there are a number of players I would be interested in for our early picks.
For Pick 18 I think it's hard to look past the likes of Jarrod Berry, Jy Simpkin, Jordan Gallucci, Todd Marshall, Cedric Cox and Sam Powell-Pepper although I could also see us putting in a bid for GWS Academy player Harrison Macreadie to potentially take a bit of sting out of GWS. Given he is a good KP prospect anyway it wouldn't be a problem if by miracle GWS didn't match the bid. I think it could be either SPP, Berry or Cedric Cox.
For pick 26, I'd have players like Oliver Florent, Jordon Ridley, Will Hayward, Tom Williamson, Brennan Cox and Jarrod Berry I'd be considering. Hayward, and Gallucci would be good selections.
You can find knocks on a number of players but they all have the right sort of skills that could be developed. Will Hayward for example is athletically very good however, he is a poor kick. It then becomes a decision around if his other attributes mean his kicking isn't that important or if a club thinks they can improve the kicking.
I like the look of Tom Williamson who tested exceptionally well and just reads the play as good as anyone. He's a nice height of 189cm and very young so I think he has a lot of scope for improvement. Pick 26 is too high for him but the times I've seen him he's been impressive. Pick 50 would be a nice get.
I might have some other names to add to the list later on.
