Bonar is en exciting type perhaps a Stringer type selection (you know what I mean) based on his injuries.
I can't believe how well he has tested.
Yep sorry, just made a quick edit on Stephenson before.

Yeah Bonar certainly has the talent. I wonder how well he tested in endurance.

Brayshaw for his midfield and forward prowess, Constable for his versatility and competitiveness and O'Brien for his long kicking and athleticism.

Anderson clearly rates Constable highly, Brayshaw around the mark and O'Brien possibly more for our 2nd round pick.

He's been talking up Aiden Bonnar in the last month and has rated him accordingly.

It's going to be interesting to see who we take with pick 9.

Bonar is going to firm like Cockatoo, we desperately need an explosive type if we get another first rounder for Stringer I'd be all over him for sure.

I'm really warming to Brayshaw - not entirely its what we need, but an agile skilled, tough big bodied mid can be gold

And it's arguable that we need everything

IIRC it was Doutta Stars that John Sharp was coaching and everything was going along brilliantly until Sharpy went OS for a holiday and they promptly lost their first game for nearly 2 years. The rest of them were so terrified that they actually drew straws for the job of ringing him on the phone and telling him they had lost.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Sharpie has settled down a lot nowadays ,, helped me out earlier this year when some tool Parked their car in front of mine and I couldn't get out.
Mad as a hatter when he was younger , he coached me at Totty(cricket) for two years and was one scary man to play against.
On Cameron Raynor I was vp at hillside cricket club and work with a couple of the footy players and Cameron's brother plays in the seniors. From what I can gather that's where Cameron played all his junior footy.

Always a fun draft when it's this wide open. Of the little I've seen, I'd like Fogarty.

Big body, mercurial, can do it in all 3 parts of the ground (really thought he was good on a half back flank) and is a beautiful kick.

This is the most open draft in recent memory, so many different opinions from watchers and I'm sure the professional recruiters have a number of varying thoughts too.

I'm keen on Brayshaw at the moment - will be interesting to see whether his impressive testing pushing him up a little higher.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Yep, he's my preferred option at pick 9.

There's a fair few rumours that Brayshaw will go top 5, I think it will happen.

I'm hoping for Aiden Bonar or Fogarty now.

                      Re: 2017 Draft Watch

Aaron Naughton top 10? Reads it very well as a drop off defender and nice hands...but man oh man that kicking. So slow from hand to foot with that funny ball drop. I am not sure anyone will pull the trigger early on him.

Read a note a few pages back about Tim Kelly. Super talent but not liking the Wells comparison. He is very inside (but will spread) and likes to be a first hands player. Nice by foot, strong tackler, kicks goals. Trying to think of a comparison-maybe Prestia looking for a current AFL player. He is more elusive than that though. If I was looking for an indigenous comparison I would go with Maurice Rioli or Barry Cable but you have to be old like me to remember them. Cruize Garlett from a few years ago had a similar inside game but lacked Kelly's size and willingness to spread. He is just a good player.

Gee if you picked up anyone resembling Rioli you'd be doing cartwheels.Always kept his feet , and hard to tackle .

Or Cable , he would be number 1 draft pick.

Cable and Rioli are hall of fame talents and that is where it is hard. Kelly is a genuine inside mid who can spread...and looking for other indigenous players with that skill set I just can think of too many - they tend to be pigeon holed as primarily outside (Wells, Long, Winmar) or play a small forward/defender role. Even MacLeod lived at half-back for a good portion of his early career.

I think the Prestia comparo holds up.

He has been amazing week in, week out at WAFL level for 2 years now.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Kelly looks exactly the type of player we need.

Might have to use 26 to get him
