Our new draft plan. Delightfully devilish Sam Power.

Imagine clubs losing their shit when we have Marra and Darcy at one end of the ground, and two Cat B rookies (Mitch and JoD) at the other in 2027.

I have to admit I'm not a big fan of Cat B listings because it's not really working as it was originally designed. While it designed more to incentivise clubs to take a chance on the likes of Khamis I'm obviously delighted to have O'Donnell at the club. I think all these list management positing will close the door on clubs adding the likes of Mitch Croft as a Cat B player.

So what you're saying is that my AFL dream is still alive
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

It was also designed to easily bring in athletes from other sports which is exactly what JOD, Mitch Croft, Blicavs, etc are. I don't see an issue, unlike fathers sons and NGAs every club has exactly the same access.

At that point could we look at signing him up directly as one of those other type of categories for guys coming via other, non-football sporting pathways? Without him going into the draft?
As posted already Mitchell is the twin brother.

He is probably focussed on Olympic games and if Australia can be competitive volleyball may hold him with the Olympics in Brisbane in 2032.

However, the Cat B rookie option is there if he does look to change sport. Earning potential would be better with us.

I know nothing about Volleyball but we don't appear to be competitive on a world level. The men's team has only ever qualified for 2 Olympics (2004 and 2012), 2000 was automatic as hosts, as 2032 will be. They have missed out once again for 2024. It would be a long wait for 2032, if indeed he is good enough.

But volleyball is huge in Europe isn't it? Without googling i assume there's a pro league over there?

I imagine so. I was just talking about the likelihood that Australia won't be in the Olympics again until 2032 which is a long way away if that's his motivation. If he's good enough for the pro leagues I'm sure he can make a good living.

There are pro leagues but restrictions on foreign players. I do know a bit about a player involved through friends. The money doesn't appear that great compared to AFL earnings.

Coons doesn't seem to have a lot of love for the Dogs. A chance the kid elects not to FS?
