He looks incredibly raw, but his athletic qualities are obvious.

If we are targeting that Gold Coast pick, is McKercher the most likely candidate? I loved what I saw in the Championships, he looked perfect for our midfield mix.

The other I really liked was Darcy Wilson who reminded me a little of early days Ryan Griffen.

While I don't think we could genuinely get into the mix for pick 6 I still think McKercher is a top 3 prospect and he should go early.

      Wilson is an exciting prospect.

Why are our two firsts not enough to get in the mix? With about a 500 draft point surplus to GCS?

He doesn't exactly look a natural footballer does he? Looks more like someone that just swapped codes than the son of an AFL player

I still see a gun CHB. Got that rangy type of loping run about his play and gathers the ball well from the ground.

                I'd hope so.
Maybe a little looser and takes a little longer to develop. He's raw but really love the raw product.
His second efforts and 'not giving up on the contest' bodes well.

He was on the radar from the same scout that started raving about Sam Darcy when Darcy was just a fringe prospect (first u18 game in his draft year). Scout was a bit fan of Croft's form as a 16 year old

I guess that's not far off the truth either with his volleyball background.

If his name wasn't Croft, would we even be interested?

A little tongue in cheek, but from what I've seen, nothing screams 'pick me'.

He is ranked as a first rounder, so someone sees something in him.

Athleticism and second efforts for a big man are very good IMO
I'm not convinced he 'demands' the ball the way top KPFs do but he's doing all he can at the moment.

                                Fox sports tonight:

DOGS FATHER-SON GUN TAKES OUT EPIC BATTLE

Two of the best key-position prospects in this year’s pool went head-to-head in the Coates Talent League on the weekend, with Calder Cannons forward Jordan Croft and Murray Bushrangers defender Connor O’Sullivan engaging in a tantalising match-up.

And Bulldogs fans should be excited, with father-son prospect Croft not just holding his own, but arguably taking the points over O’Sullivan.

Croft and O’Sullivan lined up on each other on Sunday as the Bushrangers held on for a thrilling one-point win.

The versatile O’Sullivan (198cm), a possible top-10 pick, found plenty of the ball, finishing with 26 disposals, eight marks and five rebound 50s. But several recruiters, both at the ground and watching back on tape, spoken to by foxfooty.com.au believe Croft won the battle, kicking 3.4 from a season-high 17 disposals, seven marks and six inside 50s.

It was another big step forward for Croft, who’s the son of former defender Matthew Croft. As Matthew played 186 games for the Bulldogs, Jordan is father-son eligible to the club.

The tricky aspect for the Dogs is they hold their own natural first-round selection (currently Pick 13) and Brisbane’s first selection (Pick 16). And Croft, an athletic 200cm forward, is considered a mid first-round prospect, meaning he could attract a bid before the Bulldogs’ first pick.

The Dogs in the past three years have drafted father-son gun Sam Darcy, NGA star Jamarra Ugle-Hagan and WA’s Jedd Busslinger – who are all key-position players – with their opening draft picks. Considering Croft’s size, the Dogs this year will almost certainly look to draft a midfielder or smaller hybrid player with one of their early picks, which could be determined by where the Croft bid lands.
