So, it's been reported Adelaide could end up with 3 top 10 picks this year. They're tied to GWS' first round pick which is currently 6, but that could fall to 5 as Freo have to make up draft points due to going over last year. Then they could recieve first band compo for the departure of Brad Crouch. All in all it doesn't bode well for us and a bid on Jamarra if Adelaide have picks 1,2 and possibly 6.
GWS should start winning more games soon, they've had a fairly tough draw up to now, and surely no-one offers Brad Crouch a massive contract. He's good but not sure Band 1 good.

A bid on Jamarra is most likely to come in the first few going by what the experts say.

I'd say lolNorf are the most likely to bid if they are the first Vic club in the draft.

If Crouch goes I'd say the Crows are a certainty to get a band 1 pick. He'll get a great offer from somewhere, probably Gold Coast or Swans, and the AFL would be happy to dish out a top pick to the Crows to expedite their rise back up the ladder.

If he fills into his neck we are going to have a beast on our hands! He looks like he's been hitting the gym during the lock down. Jarrod Grant had all the tools in the u18 comp too but was lighter when he retired than when we drafted him Jamara doesn't appear to have that same problem.

that is the hope that ive been clinging to.... tom greene is clearly a superstar, slipping to where he did is an outstanding coup for the giants. i can see huge merit in the argument that psychologically you dont want a kid thinking they are a clubs second pick, but i cant think of an NGA that has been a potential pick 1.

When we win the flag this year, what will our points options be?

Are we going to need to trade a player or two out to get a couple 2nd rounders?

If we finish 1st, as it stands we could get

                      Pick 19 - 948 points

                      Pick 38 - 465

                      Pick 55 - 207

                      Total points = 1620

this could change and be reduced depending on any free agency compensation awarded.

If Jamarra goes at pick 5 (currently 1503 points needed) we will be able to cover it with our existing picks. If he goes higher we will need to find more points or we will have to go into deficit. It also means we have no other draft picks until the end of the draft.

Therefore we will have the option to either sell our current draft picks to improve our points situation or trade a player out to acquire a draft pick with points.

It will be a tough one for Sam Power this year as multiple clubs will be scrambling to improve their points and draft positions due to the amount of high end NGA & F/S players tied to these clubs. So we could see lots of buying and selling.

If we want Raak & Macpherson, we may have to look at parlaying some of next years picks too.

I think that we are a big chance of seeing very early bids, even Number 1 or 2 this year. I think clubs are increasingly being pragmatic. There's no way other clubs will let JUH get to us for less than perceived market value.
I can't see any scenario occurring whereby we don't match a bid on him. Other club's know this.

What's the word on the street about these two?

Are we likely to take them?

I think Raak has been listed in some draftee assessments as a top 30 prospect. Macpherson; I haven't seen his name mentioned.

Raak is a weird size but plays a position that you can never really have enough of, and a skill (intercept marking if I'm reading correctly) that strongly translates to AFL success. Seems like he's worth taking if they're just giving him away.

I just don't see Adelaide not bidding on him. They are envious of us. JUH has also been talked up quite a bit compared to other highly rated academy players in the past. I expect a bid in the top 3.
