Re: 2023 List Management Thread
The number of delistings trends towards highlighting our lack of depth which apart from 2021, has seen us as a struggling 8th position
team. The arrival of Harmes and Coffield will help but with an indifferent attack and apart from Liam Jones there remains the need for a second quality defender. Improvement from Macrae Bailey Smith Ugle Hagen and Lobb hold the keys to a much improved year together
with the likes of O?Donnell, Croft and Darcy.Comment

Re: 2023 List Management Thread
So if it breaks down with Doc to the rookie list and McNeil re-rookied. This is what it looks like as the complete change to the list with a ruckman via SSP. Games played in 2023 in brackets.
Main List:
Duryea (15) - Pick 5
Bruce (8) - Croft, Pick 10-15
O'Brien (7) - Coffield (0)
McClean (6) - Harmes (9)
Hannan (6) - A. Scott (22), elevated
Crozier (4) - 3rd rounder
Sweet (0) - 3rd/4th rounder (maybe/not Lual)
Rookie List:
Scott (22) - Duryea (15)
Roarke (0) - SSP Ruck
McComb (3) - MSD Vacancy
Raak (0) - N/A as Cat B
(McNeil, Baker & Poulter remain, JOD as a Cat B still)
Future 1st & 4th gone. F3 swapped into GCS F3. Outside chance to grab a F4 in live trading.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment

Come to think of it, it's what I'm going to be saying to my 21 year old pretty soon in relation to him continuing to live at home. What should I tell her? She's going to ask.Comment

Re: 2023 List Management Thread
I think our list is extremely good and this year was just a year where everything went wrong.
I see a huge turn around, reminds me of a couple of other coaches under the pump who went on to win a few flags the next few years.
They did a review, kept the coach, changed a few things around.
I don’t think it’s anywhere as bad as people think. No players wanted out is a sign.Bring back the biffComment

That sounds like what I say to players when I leave them out of the side..."we're not sure how we will survive without you...but we're going to try"...

Mine moved out to England. Well one of them did.
The other one only went as far as TasmaniaThey say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment

Ideally I’d rather grab the 55th best kid at the ND rather than the 80th with our first rookie draft selection.
So I’d like to see our 6 rookie spots: Doc, McNeil (since the club want him), Baker, Poulter, SSP Ruck, MSD Vacancy (JOD Cat B)Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment

Re: 2023 List Management Thread
We are shuffling a couple of players to the rookie list and we made the hard call om Crozier and R.Smith which will open up some spots for us at the draft and to add maybe two DFA's.
From a list management perspective what areas do we need to focus on?
We know we are getting a key forward for the future with a father son pick, we suspect we are getting a small forward at pick 6 and we are hopeful we can pick up up a smaller defender who's been in our NGA program but that means we have a few more spots to fill.
From a DFA perspective, Sam Power has indicated that finding a ruckman is a focus and from there I'm assuming we probably need a midfielder with a bit of pace and experience so what else do we need?
So it could be:
Watson or Sanders
Croft
Lual
In an ideal scenario what other positions do we need to fill?Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"Comment
