Re: 2023 List Management Thread
Delist. Sign him to Footscray. Take him in the mid-season draft if he can put some games together...
I'm out on him because he simply NEVER plays...or trains...so it isn't like he is toiling away improving as a player. He is toiling away doing injury rehab. Surely enough is enough? What should I tell her? She's going to ask.Comment

Re: 2023 List Management Thread
This seems to be a good approach but is it reliant on keeping a spot open? I'd prefer not to do that given we are beefing up our focus on player development. If we still think there is a question mark on his fitness then we should cut our losses. Does the fact we haven't made the hard call yet indicate we are looking to move him to the rookie list?Delist. I doubt there are other clubs interested in him.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"Comment

Re: 2023 List Management Thread
I think we should 100% leave a spot for the MSD. You never know what position you will be in or what you might need in the middle of the year and you can get players on 6-month contracts. Best deal ever for clubs...worst deal ever for players. What should I tell her? She's going to ask.Comment

If he's shown the right attitude towards his recovery and is working his arse off, and we also think he has talent then that should be considered for retention.
Sometimes I think we forget how speculative speculative types are at the end of the draft.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment

He also showed something in the AFL. That’s more than you get out of 90% of guys.

I agree with both of you so I'm going to need someone to decide for me.Delist. Sign him to Footscray. Take him in the mid-season draft if he can put some games together...

Re: 2023 List Management Thread
Delist. 'Flashes at VFL level' just isn't enough to keep on a list. Where on earth would he play at senior level?
We just signed three wingmen last year (Williams, Poulter and Baker) - 4 if you include Scott. We're taking Croft so there's another tallish forward/defender developing spot on the list taken. We took Coffield so intercepting defenderish role is taken, and Cleary is ahead of Bedendo there anyway.Western Bulldogs: 2016 PremiersComment

Re: 2023 List Management Thread
I don't think he is a winger because he is way too reliant on his marking so to me he is more of a mid forward option like Khamis.Delist. 'Flashes at VFL level' just isn't enough to keep on a list. Where on earth would he play at senior level?

I think Bedendo deserves another year. He is a nice mover and good size. Has a little bit of X factor that I think is worth the punt.Comment

Re: 2023 List Management Thread
If he can work on his endurance the perfect spot would be wing. His leap and marking skills would be handy at either end.

Re: 2023 List Management Thread
I think this is disingenuous. He was full good at VFL level, the “flashes” were at AFL level, and he’s not playing the same position as any of those guys.Delist. 'Flashes at VFL level' just isn't enough to keep on a list. Where on earth would he play at senior level?

Re: 2023 List Management Thread
So the question remains - where doe he play?
Wing? That's a big 'IF' - is he going to push our Poulter & Williams who seem set as our two first choice wings, with Scott and Baker on the list as well? Roarke is touch and go for a contract too and if we retain him, that's another ahead of him.
At either end who is he pushing out? Behind the ball, Dale is a lock, and Coffield and Cleary seem to be the mid sizers ahead of him and if we play a 3rd taller guy ahead of either of them, Buss probably comes into mind.
As a HFF we've been playing Baz and Macrae, hard to see him pushing either of those guys out. Naughton, Marra & Lobb are locks as the tall with Darcy developing too. We've got Weightman who is best 22 and we're searching for a small/crumbing forward so I'm not sure a tallish marking option is really high on the list of needs.
We just signed Buku as well so in terms of tallish depth there's another who is probably ahead of him.
I'm not against the kid, I just really don't see how he gets games unless we have an absolute horror run with injury and he somehow escapes all that.Western Bulldogs: 2016 PremiersComment
