I hate the thought that we could throw Darcy into a regular ruck role when I don't think he is ready. I'm also not sure Lobb could be the #1 ruck for several weeks if English went down.

So how do we get a deal done for Coffield? What can we offer that gets the deal done?

How realistic are the Saints? if they don't take a pick swap, at most you offer pick 50-60 and if they refuse say 'thanks, I guess we'll keep the points and pick him up in the PSD'

A pick swap probably isn't a chance now but they'll want more than a pick in the 50's.
It's one of those difficult ones because if you offer a couple of years in a deal like we have you're typically prepared to pay a bit more than you should. They'll probably demand a F2 but accept something less than that.

I don't think offering a two year deal means much at all. That in itself should not increase his trade value. 3 or 4 years, maybe.

Yeah but they've not offered him more than a one year contract and he hasn't played a game in over 2 years. We're offering a couple years but on pretty small coin (supposedly under 300k) and he's out of contract.

51 or nothing. It'll probably go up in value with picks under it eaten up by matching bids anyway. If Hill is worth a pick in the 30s Coffied is in the 50s.

If they demand a pick we can’t trade (F2) then they’re bigger idiots than I thought.

I think they’ll find another third. We take both off them and give them back 40 & 70. Something to try to get Henry with.
                  Or
An F3. They probably want the GCS one. We can trade an F3 as we have two of them.
                  Or
                  Walk to the PSD

Personally they should grab our second and fourth rounders for their two thirds and move on. He’s not worth much and a F3 won’t help them get Henry. If an F3 gets Dow (they want points next year) then maybe Saints see Dow for Coffield as a fair swap.

Surely this isn’t taking up a lot of time.

If we do get Watson in how does our acquisition of Charlie Clarke last year look?
Sure we could potentially play 3 talls, Marra, Naughton and Lobb and 3 smalls in Weightman, Watson and Clarke but I wonder if that is the plan.

I don’t hate the idea of having 6 forwards tbh. Maybe Weightman and Watson spending a bit of time in the middle instead of playing mids in the forward position. Or on a wing for Watson as it sounds like that’s where he has spent some time at the end of the year.

Looks dumb. Spending high picks 2-years in a row on niche positions is clearly not smart.

We're gonna be all sizzle no steak.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Everything in the media tonight is we’ve blown our wad over Watson. Why would this be MJP?
