Josh Jenkins is even less relevant than Cornes. Have no interest in eithers opinion on anything.

Remember Jenkins is more known for causing the commentary term change of Joe the goose to Josh the goose.

While its not an exact science our medical team should know if Treloar can get through another season.

Or just being realistic to the point that the game moves fast and whilst Treloar had a terrific 2024, he's had about 5 calf injuries since he's played a meaningful game.

I love Adam's story, but it's time to move on if we are to improve as a team.

Is there really any downside to carrying Treloar on the list next year? I can find 5+ players pretty quickly who I’d prefer to cut. If Treloar only plays 10 games and helps set standards and develop some of the kids (ie has a great relationship with Sanders) is that really worth nothing? Hell to be honest even if he plays 0 games he’d still offer more than some others on the list.

I just don’t see an issue here, there’s more chance of Treloar getting his body right and playing some good footy next year than there is of Poulter not being scared of his own shadow, or Coffield outrunning a tree. Plenty of options to cut first

Johnno seemed impervious to the effect of time until he got that first calf injury. I'm expecting nothing from Treloar next year

I guess the difference with Treloar is that he has had significant soft tissue injuries in the past that he has overcome and clearly they were not age related. That and he hasn't been run over by any golf carts that I am aware of.

Whether this time has just been bad luck or age catching up is a question for the medicos I suppose.

I think Treloar is quite the positive mentor for young players too and he'd be worth keeping on the list for one more year for that alone.

Whilst I'm in agreeance that we probably have some ''dead wood'' on the list, the differences are that those players are already contracted for next year and are probably not in competition with Adam for a spot in the team given they play completely different roles

Our midfield has played an overly aggressive style over the past number of years, and I would hope that gets addressed this off-season, and in doing do we move past players who don't work both ways... which makes Adam's inability to move an issue.

If we want him to be a big off-field mentor, make him a development coach.

For mine Anthony Scott late season VFL form has earned himself another contract.

Before his concussion issues he was best 22 and now obviously a break glass emergency kinda of player. He is a solid citizen and his on field leadership for the vfl team will be needed with Duryea and potentially Jones moving on.

                        Adam Treloar: one year
Liam Jones: dependent if we bring in another KPD or he may wish to explore his options.
                        Oskar Baker: one year
                        Anthony Scott: one year
                        Caleb Poulter: delist
                        Nick Coffield: delist
                        Jason Johannisen: delist
                        Taylor Duyrea - retire
More of an In Bruges guy?

My heart agrees, my head says got a feeling his concussion history will be Scott’s downfall. His unflinching brave efforts, disposal and footy brain is pretty good. Hope he has another chance at AFL level. The kind of player Tassie team would benefit from, pity it’s a few years away.
                          Josie :)

                          Our day will come

Do we really need another 30 yo great vfl player that’s below average at afl?

I would prefer Scott over a speculative late draft pick in a very shallow draft that is hugely impacted by academy and father son picks.

Well we still need depth especially some with experience, most likely losing Liam Jones, JJ, Poulter, Coffield, Duryea with Treloar's body a concern if he does continue, i also didn't think Baker or Bramble were up to it but here we are both deserving to play on imo, my only query regarding Scott was his issues with concussion, apart from that i think he can come in and play his role when required.
