Bringing in a very average one isn't going help. A decent state level key forward could offer what Dawes will.

Maybe in bizarro world we could attract a high profile player like Tippet, but not in this, the real world.

He is still on their Rookie List and apparently he is one of 4 Rookies wanting to be elevated onto Carlton's main list. From what I read if he is not elevated he most likely will leave.

A delisted player becomes a free agent, I suspect that because they are offering him a contract, even if only a rookie contract, he has to be traded?

If he is a first year rookie he must enter the draft or seek a trade if he is not delisted by Carlton and wants to leave.

Tippet will most likely go back home to the Gold Coast and sign with the Suns. I would like to go for Kurt Tippett like a few posters have suggested as I think he is a very good forward. One concern with Tippett is his injuries so it would be a risk.
