What's the deal with Andy Maher and Mark Fine's accents?? Where are they from?

I've heard some of the more moronic Sydney-siders call a field a "foiled" from time to time, but not Melburnians! I quite like Finey (Maher not so much!), but his accent does leave me a bit perplexed from time to time!

Andy Maher's Ockerism seems almost a conscious affectation, it's so over the top.

I like Andy Maher, and will miss him from the breakfast shift.

Maher is from Regional Victoria but went to one of the private schools I think. Mark Fine seems to be an Elstetnwick/Caulfield type of boy.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Pretty sure Andy Maher went to Marcellin College.

One of the reasons is she keeps mentioning that she played basketball for years but then never talks about basketball. It drives me mad. God knows why. I don't even like basketball.

I haven't been able to listen to SEN since around about the Aker scandal. I genuinely feel prolonged exposure to the network does damage to my brain.
                TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Don't mind maher personally, but gaze on what I've heard is hopeless
Comes across as a nice guy, but not a host of a radio show.

A better slot for him would be none at all but getting him away from prime time is a start in the right direction. He's in that Dwayne group where the only option is to turn them off.

yeah I totally agree. I can't stand his voice, his lack of knowledge and the fact that he is just plain boring.
No Andrew Gaze either that's probably a good thing, he made Andy Maher sound intelligent.

I don't have an issue with Francis Leach being, or at least not that I remember, but I don't understand we he is constantly moving
around. JJJ, ABC, SEN, ABC back to SEN.

Not sure how Ox will do a morning show driving from Geelong every day. I guess he'll just have to go to sleep early, drive in with no traffic, do the show, have a game of golf afterwards, then head home nice and early.
I think he and Mark Allen had a good chemistry, as he did with Francis, but the afternoon time slot suited his humour and the style of entertainment. Not sure that will work in the mornings where it is less about entertainment and fun games and more on quick interviews and details.

Ox and the morning shift seem a strange combination to me too. Im listening to 774 or RN at that time anyway. And I can't stand listening to Tim Watson.

I remember when they added him to Before the Game. It was horrible. He has no sense of humour and took everything seriously. Not in a straight-man way but in a way that just made things awkward.

                          He's just the worst

A new shake up for 2017

Garry Lyon, Tim Watson, Hamish McLachlan with Sam McClure doing breakfast with a number of guests
                            KB maintains his morning show
Francis Leach has the midday to 3pm slot
Mark Allen and David Schwartz doing the drive slot
                            Finey maintains the evening show.

Harford is moving to RSN and Maher after 10 years appears to a stand in option. I've heard him on RSN last week and then on SEN on Saturday morning filling in for Craig Hutchinson.

I wonder how SEN will manage Garry Lyon?
If anyone saw Francis Leach wearing that hat today on the ABC it just about confirms why he should be on radio.

I'm not sure if I can be bothered listening to Garry Lyon and Tim Watson and might give Harford a go on RSN.

I don't know how Tim Watson gets a gig he is just so dumb, guess it will become the Essendon update show on how good they are going ,just hope he doesn't bring his wife into the studio.
