I don't get the Francis Leach hate. He is very knowledgeable across many sports, and he is not afraid to proffer up his own opinion on key issues instead of towing the party line (hello Maher). Sure he's a Saints fan but you can't be perfect.
I think lunchtime will suit him perfectly as it tends to cater for multitude of sports and the ability to delve deeper into discussion topics.
I heard Bob is to be on 'alternating days' with two others, I might be prepared to listen to the Bob days if it's a regular thing, but to be honest Gary Lyon gives me the creeps.
Actually this new lineup is all round terrible.
I used to quite like Francis Leach but he seems to have become very snide in latter years.

While he is very knowledgeable on lot of sports he seems to fall into the trap of trying to be a smart arse when he paired with others. I don't think it ever sat well with him that the Ox was hugely popular.
I think I mentioned a little while back he had a number of cracks about the weight of the Ox in a short space of time one day and seemed to keep going because he wasn't getting the bite he wanted. His twitter antics won't have endeared him to many either. Good at dishing it out but very thin skinned when it's directed back at him. I liked him on the ABC where the focus is on reporting and expressing views more than trying to be controversial and entertaining but each time he comes back to SEN he's become more arrogant.
I agree that his best chance is with the lunch time slot and it should suit him because he won't have to share the spotlight. I'll wait to hear how he goes.

He's a smart arse who's full of his own self importance and shouts people down when they have the temerity to disagree with him. He also needs to understand that it's not his job to barrack for St Kilda football club, he needs to be more professional than constantly defending them or talking them up.
That's why I don't have much time for him.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I can see how he might rub people up the wrong way with his smugness and air of superiority, but I always respected the fact that he thought for himself and didn't simply follow the chosen narrative when it came to certain key issues.

I hate his wife as well. GVGjr and TD summed him up well.

There is no question that he is talented and that's what makes me frustrated with him because he is wasting his talent.
The fact that his 'smugness' is getting worse each year and that he is way to quick in cutting people off who have a different view to his makes him harder to take as well. He could win people over with his countering views by challenging them but he now chooses to dismiss them or in a way insult them and cut them off. That approach is OK if you want to dish it out in a shock jock way but he certainly can't handle it when it comes back at him which is very hypocritical.
When he's not trying to be the smart arse he's very good. I think he could do well at the midday slot because he he hopefully can get into the interviews a bit more.

One thing with this new line up is we are all talking about it. I personally won't bother with the breakfast show but hats because I'm more of a Red Symons type of guy and I like the 15 minute news and AM so I'm on 774 until KB comes on at 9. Unless Jon Faine has something interesting or a big news story is brewing.

Same, except I don't really listen to Kb till 11am, even then the radio is running in the background while I work, so I am not listening to much.

Leach has the thinnest of thin skins, which I find completely bizarre for a public media figure that professes to have strong opinions and is openly snarky. If you're going to give, you have to be prepared to receive. Damien Barrett is a similar type.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

That's because he knows everything.
